In this guide, you’ll learn how to activate your card terminal so you can start processing payments with Fresha.
How activating a card terminal works
Fresha card terminals are ready to use as soon as they’re powered on, automatically connecting to 4G without any setup required. Activation is completed directly from your Fresha account, enabling the card terminal to process in-store payments.
Activate a card terminal
During setup, keep your terminal charged to ensure it has sufficient battery.
- On your card terminal, press and hold the power button until the display turns on. It may take a few minutes for the Fresha logo to appear.
- In your workspace, go to Settings from the main menu on the left of your screen.
- Click on the Payments category to manage your card terminals.
- In the left menu, select Card terminals to view devices connected to your account.
- Next to your newly ordered card terminal, click on Actions and select Activate.
- In the pop-up, click on the Activate button and continue through the setup.
- Your card terminal is automatically connected to 4G, so you can skip connecting to Wi-Fi unless your cellular network coverage is weak.

- Click on the Done button once your terminal has finished activating.

Fresha card terminals accept contactless, chip and PIN, and signature payments from major debit and credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Clients can also pay using Apple Pay or Google Pay.
A Fresha card terminal connects to one workspace at a time, but it can be assigned to different locations within that workspace as needed. For help assigning your card terminal to another location, contact our support team.

Your Fresha card terminal doesn’t need to stay plugged in at all times, but keeping it connected overnight helps ensure it stays charged and receives automatic software updates for smooth daily use.
When powered on, the card terminal screen does not turn off completely but dims automatically when not in use.
To activate and use your card terminal, you need an internet connection through cellular connection or WifI.
