It was my first time getting a long hair perm from DaDa. I showed him some pictures and he was very spot on with the style and what I had imagined - loose curls and more volume. He is very skilled and knowledgable on hair styling and cutting, highly recommend.

I had a body wave perm with Sam and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the result! I couldn’t find anyone in Newcastle who offered the kind of perm I was looking for, so I travelled to Lancaster to see Sam—and it was 100% worth it. Amazing! Aoi worked so skillfully and according to my individual hair texture/curl patterns/hair density. (For reference, I’ve got wavy, curly, thick, frizzy hair, and I’m of East Asian descent.) Overall it's a 3.5 but I didn't have the option to do half points so I rounded up. For reference, I have biracial hair with a mixture of 3b to 4a curls. I really loved the cut that my stylist (Demi) did. I want my hair to grow so she had to cut more than I was hoping for but she did a great job and I was pleasantly surprised. What I didn't love was the styling at the end - she kept brushing my hair which disrupted my natural curl pattern and left my hair really tight and frizzy. I was able to easily fix this when I got home by rewetting it and restyling so overall not a big deal.

I absolutely love my new hairstyle! After cutting it short, my hair still retains the curls from my previous perm and my natural waves. The stylist was incredibly attentive, carefully considering my natural curl pattern. They let my hair dry naturally before making further adjustments and refining the cut. I am beyond impressed! John was so honest, he suggested a cut & deep conditioner to prevent me from damaging my hair any further. I had gone in for a consultation for a perm/wave, which would have cost more, however I left with the most beautiful, healthy hair after a cut, style and conditioning treatment. I could not be any happier! He saved me from crying over frizz and breakage, and I will be back for that perm when ready. Nathan was there too, wonderful to chat with, both are such genuine and compassionate human beings. I’ll not only keep going back, but I’m sending my entire family!

Tried a new look at Colours today for the first time with Carmen—went for a digital perm and mid length wolf cut. I told her I wanted something cute, feminine but not edgy that would suit my everyday style. Since my hair tends to be quite flat on top, she carefully added layers and structured the perm to create more volume. I especially love what she did with the fringe. She was incredibly meticulous and attentive throughout the whole perming process, and I really love how it turned out. i've been to assort a couple of times for perms and haircuts but i'm leaving this review for kousei specifically because he completely blew me away! i have very fine and straight hair that struggles to retain volume and kousei not only gave me the exact haircut i wanted that suited me completely, but he also gave me a rundown on how to style my hair with what products to make sure i can still get volume without a perm. on top of that he was an amazing conversationalist, super friendly, and showed great detail and care in cutting my hair. and he gave me an great scalp massage. ily kousei!! xoxo

absolutely 100/10 treatment and experience with the hairstylists at kimage hairdressing school, the only reason i’m rating it 4 stars is because my hair perm didn’t really hold very well (even only a few days after the perm itself), and my hair is still pretty flat despite airdrying it the night before, so quite disappointed with the end results. however i’ve permed my hair with them before, and those curls lasted for almost 8 months, so im not sure maybe smth went wrong somewhere 😅

Have been visiting Assort for more than a year now, always a great experience. Today was a whole new level of amazing, wanted to go short but my hair tends to get super frizzy and naturally it’s a mix bag of curls and waves. Yoshee-san not only Cut my head to symmetry when wet but also cut it when it was dry and frizzy and also while it was in my natural state. The salon is gorgeous and nestled in a green plot on a magnificent estate. I was lucky enough to have a 1st Curly appointment with Madison. The knowledge and skills she has meant I had a very unique hair appointment, where she literally transformed my thin and frizzy hair into soft curls and volume, framing my face. Madison is a consummate professional and having my hair restyled and pampered was like a spa experience. I learnt every step of curl care and what suits me. Lizzy has permed my hair twice now and even though it’s back breaking work for her, she always makes it feel like a complete breeze! She’s super knowledgeable on the process and products that I can try and incorporate into my current routine for different results.
