I had the most amazing experience with Candyce at Jamal Amal Hair Salon! In which from the moment I walked in, she made me feel so welcomed and at ease. She truly understands hair and took the time to listen to what I wanted, offering expert advice along the way. The end result was beyond my expectations. In all honesty my hair has never looked or felt better! Whiles on the other hand her attention to detail, skill, and warm coupled with her personality made the entire appointment such a joy. Genuinely the best haircut I’ve gotten in NYC. I’ve gone to quite a few different salons dedicated to curly hair, including traveling all the way to Jersey to get a proper cut. And in all instances I’ve left underwhelmed, with a cut that was not what I had asked for. This experience was the exact opposite! She took the time to take into account the different curl patterns I have, my daily styling routine, what I wanted and what was achievable. I left the appointment looking and feeling amazing! I cannot say enough amazing things about this salon!! From the second you walk in you’re treated like family and made to feel so comfortable. I got my hair cut and colored by Ena and she was AMAZING!! She was so kind and thoughtful when doing my hair checking in with me along the way making sure I was good! I wasn’t totally sure the color I wanted and Ena worked with me to find the PERFECT natural look while still making sure It was noticeable! Silvana also helped with coloring and washing my hair, she was so kind and comforting along the way! Amazing experience I can’t wait to go back!

I recently visited Jamal Amal Salon to get my hair braided, and I had such a great experience! My hair has been getting wavier lately and I wanted a cut to bring out the curl more. Keith listened to me first before even starting on my hair, to get an idea of what I wanted and what my current routine is. He then helped me figure out a routine to do at home. I’m more than pleased with the results! He rescued my hair from a very bad cut I had a few months back (at a different salon) with someone who didn’t listen to me at all, and instead straightened my hair. Plus he brought out wave in the back that I didn’t know was possible.

The Professionalism of Qiu, Debbie provided exceptional service that exceeded my expectations. I opted for the Milbon Japanese hair treatment, Hair Color, and weeks after keratin treatment, and I very happy with the results. Qiu’s expertise shone through as he expertly assessed my hair's needs recommended the best treatments for me. The Milbon treatment left my hair feeling incredibly soft and revitalized, while the Keratin treatment. I highly recommend!
