I had the most amazing experience with Candyce at Jamal Amal Hair Salon! In which from the moment I walked in, she made me feel so welcomed and at ease. She truly understands hair and took the time to listen to what I wanted, offering expert advice along the way. The end result was beyond my expectations. In all honesty my hair has never looked or felt better! Whiles on the other hand her attention to detail, skill, and warm coupled with her personality made the entire appointment such a joy. Caesar always gives me an excellent haircut, just walked into my apartment and a friend said "great haircut." Their salon is very pleasant, personal and has a great relaxed vibe. I always see other people looking great when they finish working on them as well.

London is knowledgeable, she’s professional, and a very talented stylist. Every time I sit in her chair she teaches me more about my hair type and what products/ techniques will work best for me while maintaining my install. She was previously at a different salon, and I’ve followed her here to her new location. I will go wherever she goes! Roberto is always great. I don’t do the same style every time for my short hair and he’s always happy to try something new for me. He also gives good advice when I can’t decide between some styles. The salon is always clean and they have good products for hair wash and style.

I just got my 2nd haircut with Chi. My first one was last fall when I was working in NYC for a few months,. I loved the asymmetrical style she gave me so much that I returned this weekend though I'm only visiting the city for a few days. My salon in San Francisco just doesn't match up! Chi has an eye for what will look good, and makes it happen with such ease.

During my stay in New York, I decided to get my hair cut. Online, I found an independent hairdresser in Union Square. On the 12th floor of a historic building, I met Marianna and her assistant Annie in a small salon. The atmosphere was very pleasant, calm, with relaxing lounge music playing. Marianna was very focused and took great care and attention to detail with my haircut, which I love. Even after the first wash, my hair looks fantastic. (I never blow dry my hair). Cabello is mainly a men's barber shop, and I anticipated they would cut, and even out my hair, but I would go to another salon if I wanted to have it cut and styled further. Ruben, and his assistant Ei (ee-yay) were so open and warm that I showed them some pictures of what I was planning - and after some thought, Ruben did the cut! I was a little anxious at first, but Ruben is a precise craftsman, with an eye for detail, and a feel for hair. It came out great! I love it. Thank you so much again.
