Make sure the hair on your back is at least a quarter of an inch long (0.6cm), so the wax can grip the hair effectively. Avoid sun exposure for at least a day before your treatment, and do not apply any oils or lotions to the area before the appointment. You should also exfoliate the area 1-2 days before the appointment.
Like any waxing treatment, back waxing can cause skin redness, sensitivity, pain, and ingrown hairs. Other possible side effects include wax burns, dermatitis, and severe skin irritation. Make sure to talk to your esthetician about any skin conditions, allergies, or concerns you have before the appointment.
