It was my first visit and it was lovely. I love my hair, I love the staff, I love my stylist (Lauren), I love the way the products smell, I love the way everything looks inside, I love their organization and the way they handle business. If I wasn't moving next month, this would be my permanent salon, but unfortunately I'm leaving New York. :(

The staff is not only professional but also incredibly warm and welcoming, instantly putting you at ease. I often find myself wishing I’d arrived early enough to enjoy their beautiful balcony—an oasis on warmer days. And with this unexpected November warmth, I really missed a chance to unwind there before my appointment. 11/10 experience! This salon was clean and the staff was nice and efficient. I’ve been to many salons and this was the most thorough hair wash and scalp massage I’ve ever had. And Curly was just amazing! I had the best experience with him. He listened and took his time to get my cut as precise and perfect as possible. He also gave me styling tips and got my pin straight hair to look voluminous like I wanted. Glad I found my new go to spot, and for my cut to be under $100 with tip is unheard of in New York.

Jill is a magician!! The New York winter and water had killed my curls, but Jill brought them back to life. So very professional and taught me about my hair and styling, while also keeping my preferences top of mind. The space is clean and modern, and the Self team were so wonderful.

Sarah was lovely to work with! I got off on the wrong subway stop and she was so understanding when I called to say I would be late. She was friendly and knowledgeable when it came to advising me on hair color and haircut. And the results came out amazing! I would definitely go back to see her.

Hands down the best hair appointment I've ever had. I've colored my hair for years (like crazy bright colors), so I've been in many salon chairs. But Firuza was by far the best colorist/haircut I've had. David helped pick the perfect mix of colors, and Firuza did the most beautifully blended balyage and a seamlessly layered haircut. Walked out feeling absolutely incredible. Thank you so much to the team at Balayage Me, will definitely be returning!

It was awesome. Curly, the director of stylist has been cutting my hair for many years. Pay attention to details, never felt rushed. Also had my hair colored (Jessica), always a wonderful job. The hair washing was so clean and the water pressure was perfect. Best of all, it is so well priced especially for the service and skill they offer. Overall a 5/5.

Absolutely great experience! I came in a bit nervous with my short haircut idea and Jin made the whole experience a great time. He made me feel so comfortable and I ended up loving short hair again. I hope to still be able to continue having haircuts with him.

This is my go-to hair salon. As a guy with weird curly hair, this is the only salon I went to that I genuinely loved my haircut afterwards which makes me comeback even if I just need a quick trim. The staff is amazing and made me feel genuinely cared for. From the hair shampoo, quick back massage, and the awesome haircut, everything was perfect. Would highly recommend to everyone.

Just had the best curly hair cut experience of my life! Kim was so kind and patient as she explained all the dos and donts for my hair type with a particular emphasis on using LESS — less product, more water! And I walked out with the haircut of my dreams! I feel so lucky I found this gem in Greenpoint. I will be exclusively going to Roots Radicals from now on!
