Highlights from HairCon 2025: Innovations and Insights

HairCon 2025 officially came to a close for the year last week, and what a weekend it was! From buzzing conversations on stage with our very own brand ambassadors, to one-on-one demos at our interactive booth, Fresha brought the insight and the inspiration to the stage for the biggest weekend in the hair industry calendar.

Whether you stopped by our booth, watched our panel, or simply just came to soak up the atmosphere, thank you for coming and making HairCon 2025 a success. Here’s a look back at some of our favourite moments and key takeaways:

Powerful Conversations on Fresha’s ‘Social Stage’

One of the biggest highlights for Fresha was our panel discussion: 'Your Brand, Your Business: Booking Success through Building a Personal Brand.' Led by our very own Head of Account Management, Tarun Naidu, the panel featured industry leaders who all brought real world experiences, bold strategies, and industry insights to the table.

From Fresha ambassador Sam Rascals touching base on turning followers into loyal clients, to Bridget Hannon who discussed brand identity and its power to encourage client retention, and Phil Jarman who broke down the link between education and long-term success, every speaker brought a unique perspective to the conversation.

Read some of the highlights of our conversation with Sam below:

Tarun asks:

“What does it really take to build a brand that books?”

Sam answers:

“I think authenticity is very important,  I’ve never tried to be anything I'm not because long term it’s not sustainable. I love cutting hair and I love fashion and I think that shows through my social media. If you lean into what you love and showcase that on your social media, it will attract a certain type of person.”

Tarun asks:

“With so many online platforms out there, why did you choose Fresha, and what’s your take on the balance between operating a business and leveraging tools to automate and simplify bookings and payments?”

Sam answers:

“For me, the last thing I need to be spending my time on is managing my schedule. With Fresha, clients are able to manage their own appointments whether it's cancelling or rescheduling. Things like no-shows are no longer a worry with the no show payment protection which gives security for my staff. Even down to the Fresha wallet which allows me to set my staff’s commissions and they can all be paid through the app with the click of a button… It makes my life running the barbershops super simple.”

Fresha’s Booth Brought a Space to Learn, Connect, and Grow

Our booth experience was non-stop, with hundreds of attendees dropping by to meet the Fresha team and explore the platform first-hand, as well as get some tailored advice on scaling their businesses. We dove deeper into new tools on Fresha such as our new Client Loyalty add-on, and heard firsthand how beauty professionals are using te platform to streamline their operations. We also had some special moments, such as live interviews, and an exciting ambassador announcement (keep an eye out on our socials).
