Collect payments using manual card entry
In this guide, you’ll learn how to manually enter a client’s card details at checkout to complete a payment.
How manual card entry works
With manual card entry, payments are processed by typing a client’s card details directly into Fresha. This method can be used when the card is not present or other payment options are unavailable.

After building your cart and making any adjustments, you’re ready to take a payment using a QR code.
- In the right panel of the cart view, click on the Continue to payment button at the bottom.
- Choose a preset tip amount or add a Custom tip, then select Continue to payment.
- Under Payment methods, select Manual card entry.
- In the pop-up, enter the client's card details.
- Click on the Pay now button to complete the sale.
Once the payment has been processed, a sale receipt is created, which you can share with the client by email or print.
FAQs
If there is a chargeback on a manual card transaction, the chargeback amount is passed on to you. A dispute fee is also charged for each case raised against your account, but this dispute fee is not passed on.
Manual card entry is less secure and more susceptible to fraud than other payment methods. For better security, we recommend using in-person payment methods instead of manually entering card details.
Manually entering a client’s card for in-store payment does not save the card automatically to their profile. To have a card securely saved for future bookings, the client can log into their account and update their card details in their wallet.
The transaction limit for manually entered card details is limited to 250 in your local currency.
Manual card entry transactions have a separate payment processing fee, different from the standard fee for other payment methods. You can view all fees on our pricing page.
