I was lucky enough to have the spa extreme ritual day, this was the best massage and facial I have ever had. The young lady who have me this experience was fantastic. The pool, and other amenities were great, the salt room especially. My Spar package also included a light lunch which I had a beautiful Yorkshire ham salad, and would highly recommend. You can even stay in your bathrobe to go and have lunch in the conservatory. I will definitely be returning.

I booked for the serene escape with the relax and renew treatment. The treatment was amazing and was great if you want to have multiple areas massaged, especially as It incorporated a facial as well. Then full use of the facilities, robe, towel, slippers and lunch was also included which was incredible!! I will definitely be going again! Also I had a vegan option for lunch, I just told Gary on the spa desk as then the hotel kitchen made me a vegan cheese and pickle sandwich which was great! I couldn’t have asked for a better spa day :)

Loved my massage and facial but beds around the pool are very low, hard to get up from if you are past a certain age they could do with being higher off the floor

lovely from start to finish. i had a refresh and renew, ( a scrub and massage) by chloe and it was superb. i cant fault the team at all. if anything, it would be slightly high chlorine in the jacuzzi, as my eyes were a little stinging, but the sauna sorted that fast

Very relaxing treatment, well explained. Professional and friendly staff. The spa is also great; a couple of steam rooms, sauna, jacuzzi and swimming pool. We walked over in our gowns to the hotel for lunch and coffee before we went back to the spa area for another round :).Thank you for a wonderful experience!

This is one of my favourite places to go in York to relax and unwind. Lovely place in fantastic grounds and very attentive staff. Highly recommended.

Once again, a really lovely experience at cloisters. This is the second time that Lucy has massaged me. She was absolutely brilliant, a true natural. I felt very relaxed afterwards and felt no tension in my back neck and shoulders. Topped off with a lovely swim and steam room, I came out of the spa today feeling completely rejuvenated and revived. I will definitely book again soon l. I have the Fresha app now so it’s so easy to book. Thank you team cloisters!

Had a fab spa day and afternoon tea for my hen do - perfect food and a lovely relaxing break - only thing negative would be some comfy seating outside please as nice day today but too hot inside for some older family members who would have liked to sit out but the iron chairs not comfy for long periods thanks

Very professional, an excellent massage. My only slight observation was that Sylwia was not very interactive, I don't expect chatty but there was no interaction at all, she just told me what to do and how to lay on the bed. Would definitely come back to the spa though.

Chloe has good skills. However, the whole appointment lasted 25 minutes, including walking to and from the room. The actual massage was 18-20 minutes only. I understand she had to set up the room for her next client (my husband - who also got at most 20 minutes’ treatment), but this shouldn’t be in time I have paid for. I’ve never had such a short session after paying for 30 minutes elsewhere. Therefore we won’t be booking again.
