About your website design
Smart Website allows you to choose from a variety of professionally designed templates to make your own. Simply choose a template and your business details are automatically filled out for you ready to customize.
Your website can be customized during set up or at any time after it has been created. Customize your overall style, rearrange sections, and edit individual blocks to make the design your own.
Update your website design

From the main menu on the left of your screen, go to Online presence.

Select Smart Website from the left menu panel.

Click Actions and select Edit website from the dropdown menu.

Within the website builder, you can customize the main parts of your website:
- Style: Set the overall look of your website with templates, themes, colors, fonts and more.
- Layout: Add, arrange and edit the sections that make up each page.
- Content blocks: Customize the individual blocks within each section, including text, images and more.
Changes are automatically saved as you edit, so you can come back and continue customizing at any time, but won’t be publicly visible until you select Publish.
Style your website
When setting up your website, you choose an initial template, color palette and font pack. These can be updated through the toolbar at the top of the website builder.
- Update your template: Click on Actions (three dots) in the top right of the toolbar to either reset or choose a new template. If you reset or change your template, any previous customizations will also be reset as the template returns to its default settings.
- Edit your website style: Click Site styles (paintbrush icon) to customize the site-wide design, including your themes, fonts, colors, and other style settings.
- Preview your website: Click Preview (play button), then use the tabs in the top-right corner to see how your website looks on desktop and mobile.
Customize your layout
Your website is organized into sections that help shape the overall layout of each page. These contain blocks of content. Hover over a section to make edits.
- Add a section: Click on the purple Plus (+ icon) to choose a new section to add to the page.
- Edit section: Customize the design, background, colors, and other settings available for that section.
- Change the layout: Choose a different layout for the content blocks within the section.
- Rearrange sections: Change where the section appears on the page by using the arrows to move it up or down.
- Add content: Add new custom content blocks within the section.
- Manage layers: Choose what content layers are visible by using the Eye icon to hide individual content blocks.
Within each section, you can click on Actions (three dots) to duplicate, reset or delete the section.
Design content blocks
Content blocks are the individual pieces of content within a section - such as text, images, and buttons.
- Edit content: Click a content block to open its editing toolbar. The options available show relevant tools depending on the type of content you’re working with.
- Generate content with AI: For content blocks with text, write your own content or click on the AI icon to generate engaging text inspired by your business details in Fresha.
- Rearrange content: You can drag and drop blocks to rearrange them within a section.
FAQs
Changes are saved automatically as you edit, keeping your latest design up to date. Smart Website keeps your current design as you make changes, with previous versions replaced by your latest edits.
Each template comes with its own design and layout. Customizations are specific to each template, so choosing a new one gives you its original design to customize.
