Update master settings for Client loyalty tiers
Update master settings for Client loyalty tiers
In this guide, you’ll learn how to manage Loyalty tier settings that control how clients progress through tiers and how long they stay in them.
How Loyalty tier settings work
Loyalty tiers are based on clients’ activity and spending, allowing them to move up as they meet the criteria you've set. For example, if your tiers are based on spending, clients will move into a new tier once they’ve spent the required amount.
Edit Loyalty tiers settings
-
From the main menu on the left of your screen, go to Clients.
-
In the left menu panel, select Client loyalty and then click on the Tiers tab at the top to manage your tiers settings.
-
Next to Loyalty tiers, click on the Actions button and select Edit from the panel.
-
In the Edit loyalty tiers settings view, click the image under Tier icon, select a new icon, and click Apply to save.
-
Select how clients enter new tiers based on either of the following options:
- Points earned: Clients move up tiers based on the points they earn through your Loyalty points program.
- Amount spent: Clients move up tiers based on their total spending from completed sales.
-
Choose how long clients keep their tier status from the following options:
- Their lifetime as a tiers program member: Clients keep their tier status indefinitely unless they meet the conditions to move up.
- One calendar year: Clients keep their tier status until the end of the following calendar year. For example, if a client enters the Silver tier in November 2025, they'll remain in that tier until 31 December 2026 unless they qualify for a higher tier.
- One rolling year: Clients keep their tier status for 12 months from the date of entry. For example, if a client enters the Silver tier on 8 November 2025, they’ll stay in that tier until 8 November 2026 unless they level up sooner.
-
Under Tiers start date, choose the starting point for tracking each client’s progress. This determines how far back the system looks when assigning tiers.
-
Click on the Save button in the top right to update the tier settings.
If Loyalty tiers were already enabled before you make changes, they’ll be temporarily paused. To enable the tiers program under the new settings, you’ll need to click the Enable button next to Loyalty tiers.
Enable or disable Loyalty tiers
-
From the main menu on the left of your screen, go to Clients.
-
In the left menu panel, select Client loyalty and then click on the Tiers tab at the top to manage your tiers settings
-
Next to Loyalty tiers, choose from the following actions:
- Enable: Click on the Enable button to activate Loyalty tiers.
- Disable: Click on the Actions button and select Disable from the panel. Then click on Disable in the pop-up to confirm.
Once Loyalty tiers are enabled, clients can start progressing through your tiers whilst earning rewards and perks. If you decide to disable Loyalty tiers, clients will no longer retain their current tier status or progress, and any unlimited-use rewards tied to their tier will become inactive.

When you modify any Loyalty tiers settings, the program will be temporarily paused. After saving your changes, you will need to re-enable Loyalty tiers to apply the new settings.
If a client’s Loyalty tier expires, their tier status will be recalculated based on their activity in the last 12 months. This means they may move to a lower or the same tier depending on their recent activity.
The tier expiry period is based on your Loyalty tier settings and applies to all clients.
If a client’s Loyalty tier expires, they can only remain in their current tier or move to a lower one. If clients meet the original tier requirements through spending or earning points, they can regain their previous tier status.
Tier progression can be based on either of the following options, but not both at the same time:
If you want to use points to measure progress, make sure Loyalty points are enabled.
When choosing a starting point for tracking a client's tier progress, you can set a future start date or choose to backdate it, but only as far back as the date Client Loyalty was initially enabled.
The system will automatically recalculate each client’s tier based on your current settings and their recent activity. Clients may stay in the same tier or move up or down, depending on their engagement.
Yes, you can control which services, products, memberships, or Gift cards contribute to a client’s tier progress. This is managed directly in your master loyalty settings.
