I have been getting my hair cut at Outline by Kay for a couple years now, I have curly/ wavy texture and have found it a real struggle to find a hairdresser that understands how to cut curls without using a million products and styling methods. Kay is absolutely fantastic, she really listens to what you're looking for and asks questions, she's interested in what you want rather than trying to quickly assume. And my hair has never been happier! For as long as I live in Edinburgh I won't go anywhere else - I couldn't recommend Outline or Kay more.

Amazing just amazing! Brooke is the best hairdresser ever she is quick, efficient, understands just what you want, and has amazing attention to detail. There has never been a time where I’ve been frustrated or didn’t like the work she has done, and she always advices me the best way she can about hairstyles. She’s just out of this world and if I ever move from Edinburgh I’ll have to come back every once in a while to get my hair done.

My first haircut in Edinburgh - and Aileen was just fabulous! As a blonde long hair girlie with thick (and frankly just a lot of) hair it’s always hard to find a new hair artist. She understood immediately what I wanted (also discussed colour for a future appointment) and I’m so happy with the cut. Everyone in the salon was so friendly as well. I came in with uneven hair colour, orange tones level 8 roots with level 7 mids and ends, and no real consistency or depth. The colour I walked in with didn’t look or feel flattering or polished at all. She took the time to properly assess what I walked in with and explained exactly how she was going to colour correct it, not just cover it up. She carefully neutralised the unwanted warmth and brassiness, baby lights and highlights to rebuild the colour so it looked lighter The end result is absolutely stunning. My under tone was hard to lift. Jilly done good. Drove an hour to get this girl xx

I’ve struggled to find somewhere in Edinburgh that can properly cut a medium length haircut (men’s). Chris listened to what I wanted and did an amazing job. Highly recommend.

Best hair salon experience ever. It makes the world of difference to have somebody understand your hair and educate you on it, show you the proof on the pudding by using the product recommendations during the visit, had attention to detail and knowledge to know how to cut my hair well, and most importantly how to love my hair again. On top of it all, he's the nicest guy. Blows other salons out of the water, as is evidenced by his availability, and even if I didnt live in Edinburgh anymore, I would absolutely still come back every few weeks to get.my hair done here. Couldnt be happier.

I have been seeing Ava for over a year now--I always look forward to my appointments with her, and today was no exception! For my second-ever balayage, going for a more natural look, I put my complete trust in her expertise and it resulted in gorgeous, fitting blonde highlights. I have very curly hair, and Ava diffused it to a voluminous bouncy finish. Looking forward to continuing to work with her towards growing my hair out to its maximum length and curliness!
