Importing an existing product list
Save time and streamline your product sales process by quickly adding your products. Learn how to import an existing product list to efficiently manage your inventory and stock levels.
Getting started
You can add multiple products at once by either downloading and filling in the template or uploading your own CSV file with product data. Before you start:
- Have all of your product details to hand.
- Make sure you have the required permissions to import products. If you’re a team member, request permission from the workspace owner for Products and Import products in bulk.
Importing using a template

To import your products using the template:
- Open Catalog and select Products.
- Select Options, then choose Import products.
- Click Download template.
- Input your product data into the template.
- Save the completed template as a CSV file.
- Click inside the box labeled Upload CSV file, select your filled-in template, and upload it.
- Preview your product list.
- Click Start import.
When adding product data, fields like Product Name, Brand, Category, and Retail_Price (if Retail_Sales is set to True) are mandatory. The rest can be left blank.
To import your products using the template:
- Open Catalog and select Products.
- Select Actions (the three dots) in the top right corner, then Import products.
- Tap Download template.
- Input your product data into the template.
- Save the completed template as a CSV file.
- Tap inside the box labeled Upload CSV file, select your filled-in template file, and Upload.
- Preview your product list.
- Tap Start import.
When adding product data, fields like Product Name, Brand, Category, and Retail_Price (if Retail_Sales is set to True) are mandatory. The rest can be left blank.
You can close the screen while your products are uploading. The products will appear in your list once the import is complete.
Filling in the product template
When filling in the product template, here are the definitions:
- Product_name:
For example “Nourishing Shampoo”. - Brand:
The brand of the product. If it exists in your inventory, the product is assigned to it automatically. - Category:
Product category, eg. “Haircare” If the category already exists in your inventory, the product will be assigned to it automatically. - Short_description:
Shorter product information with a maximum of 200 characters. - Full_description:
Longer description used in the product page of online store with a maximum of 400 characters. - SKU:
Product identifier eg. “SHMP-1234”. Should be unique for different products. If no value is provided, it will be generated automatically. - Barcode:
Product identified from manufacturer or brand, ie "4015600116255". This should be unique for different products. - Supplier:
Product supplier, ie “Salon Wholesale”. If a supplier with the same name already exists, the product will be assigned to it automatically. - Full_price:
The price customers pay is required for sales and will display an Error if left blank; use False in Retail_sales if the product is not for sale. - Supply_price:
The price you pay the supplier is used for adding stock or stock orders and defaults to 0.00 if left blank. - Retail_sales:
If the product is available for sale at checkout, choose True; otherwise, choose False. Defaults to False if left blank. - Measure_unit:
Unit for volume, weight, or size. Accepted units are: ml, l, fl oz, g, kg, gal, oz, lb, cm, ft, in, w. - Measure_amount:
Enter the product's volume, weight, or size. For example, for 200ml, use "ml" in measure_unit and "200" in measure_amount. - Unlimited_stock:
If stock is unlimited, choose True; otherwise, choose False. Defaults to False if left blank. - Image_url:
Link to the product image from Google Drive, Dropbox, or another store. - Location_quantity:
Quantity available at the location. Defaults to 0 if blank. Use True in Unlimited_stock for unlimited quantity.
A product import will not replace any existing products.
Importing using your CSV file

To import your products using your own CSV file:
- Open Catalog and select Products.
- Select Options, then choose Import products.
- Click inside the box labeled Upload CSV file, select your CSV file, and upload it.
- We'll try to automatically match the column headers in your file to those in the product list. You can make any edits using the dropdown boxes.
- Check that all rows contain the correct data.
- Click Start import.
To import your products using your own CSV file:
- Open Catalog and select Products.
- Select Actions (the three dots) in the top right corner, then Import products.
- Tap inside the box labeled Upload CSV file, select your filled-in template file, and Upload.
- We'll try to automatically match the column headers in your file to those in the product list. You can make any edits using the dropdown boxes.
