11/10 experience! This salon was clean and the staff was nice and efficient. I’ve been to many salons and this was the most thorough hair wash and scalp massage I’ve ever had. And Curly was just amazing! I had the best experience with him. He listened and took his time to get my cut as precise and perfect as possible. He also gave me styling tips and got my pin straight hair to look voluminous like I wanted. Glad I found my new go to spot, and for my cut to be under $100 with tip is unheard of in New York.

Jill is a magician!! The New York winter and water had killed my curls, but Jill brought them back to life. So very professional and taught me about my hair and styling, while also keeping my preferences top of mind. The space is clean and modern, and the Self team were so wonderful.

It was my first visit and it was lovely. I love my hair, I love the staff, I love my stylist (Lauren), I love the way the products smell, I love the way everything looks inside, I love their organization and the way they handle business. If I wasn't moving next month, this would be my permanent salon, but unfortunately I'm leaving New York. :(

I've been going to Self Salon for a few years and I just cant get enough of this place. They are just wonderful. I did my partial highlights this time around with Elia and she is truly the best. Hands down the best hair appointment I've ever had. I've colored my hair for years (like crazy bright colors), so I've been in many salon chairs. But Firuza was by far the best colorist/haircut I've had. David helped pick the perfect mix of colors, and Firuza did the most beautifully blended balyage and a seamlessly layered haircut. Walked out feeling absolutely incredible. Thank you so much to the team at Balayage Me, will definitely be returning!

I had such a great experience with Holly Cheema! I came in wanting a non-bleached balayage for my naturally black/Indian hair, and my biggest priority was keeping it looking soft and natural—and she absolutely delivered. She really understood how to work with darker hair without compromising its health or integrity. The color came out beautifully subtle, with just the right amount of dimension and warmth. It enhances my natural hair instead of overpowering it, which is exactly what I was hoping for. You can tell Holly is super knowledgeable and takes the time to listen to what you want.

It was my first time at Hayato. Although it looked a bit dated, the service was exactly what I was looking for. Great shampoo experience and Mina my hairdresser was a super Japanese stylist. She listened to what you wanted and then offered her opinion. Highly recommend for a true New York Japanese hair salon. Thank you!

I have been flying back to New York to have Curly style my hair! I have been using him for over 20 plus years. I got married and moved away and have not been able to find a master stylest like Curly in my area. He is the best! I have recently introduced my teen age daughter to him and she too believes he is one of the best. We always visit Toto hair when we come back to New York.

I’ve been to many hair salons in the New York City area but, H2 salon in Brooklyn is by far the best hair Salon I’ve ever been to. My stylist Geneva is an expert at what she does. She keeps my hair, healthy looking good. I highly recommend H2 salon

I had an amazing fun experience at Hayato New York! I had haircut with Miho and she is highly skilled in precision haircuts. I am mixed asian and american hair so I have fine but a lot of hair that is straight. I came to her with damaged overgrown hair and she created a beautiful easy to manage (wash and go) hairstyle that compliments me. I highly recommend Miho at Hayato!

Iryna does the best color and cut in the city! She is able to blend in highlights in a way that allows it to grow out more naturally. The salon is new and comfortable and always have a great experience and leave happy with my hair!

Last minute before a trip, I realized how bad of a hair color touchup I was in need of and my usual place was unavailable, so I decided to swing by the studio to see if there was any chance there for highlights. Dori was super nice and was willing to accommodate me last minute, even staying late since that was the only time I was available too, and she did an absolutely fantastic job! I was very impressed and even my family immediately commented on how beautiful my hair came out. Definitely recommend Dori for your hair needs!
