Jill is a magician!! The New York winter and water had killed my curls, but Jill brought them back to life. So very professional and taught me about my hair and styling, while also keeping my preferences top of mind. The space is clean and modern, and the Self team were so wonderful.

11/10 experience! This salon was clean and the staff was nice and efficient. I’ve been to many salons and this was the most thorough hair wash and scalp massage I’ve ever had. And Curly was just amazing! I had the best experience with him. He listened and took his time to get my cut as precise and perfect as possible. He also gave me styling tips and got my pin straight hair to look voluminous like I wanted. Glad I found my new go to spot, and for my cut to be under $100 with tip is unheard of in New York.

During my stay in New York, I decided to get my hair cut. Online, I found an independent hairdresser in Union Square. On the 12th floor of a historic building, I met Marianna and her assistant Annie in a small salon. The atmosphere was very pleasant, calm, with relaxing lounge music playing. Marianna was very focused and took great care and attention to detail with my haircut, which I love. Even after the first wash, my hair looks fantastic. (I never blow dry my hair). Thank you for this authentic New York experience.

It was an incredible experience. I went to a different salon. They completely turned my hair, orange, yellow and dark brown Doreen saved my life. I wasn’t able to go to work. Very happy. Excellent experience highly recommend it. She repaired my fried hair into beautiful sleek with highlights. Absolutely fabulous thank you Doreen.

What a great experience as usual. I went in for a cut and blowdry but after arriving I decided I'd like to get highlights as well. I'm so happy with how everything turned out. My highlights are very natural and so beautiful. The color she picked compliments my skin tone and natural hair perfectly. The haircut is gorgeous. Exactly what I asked for. I had such a great experience with Holly Cheema! I came in wanting a non-bleached balayage for my naturally black/Indian hair, and my biggest priority was keeping it looking soft and natural—and she absolutely delivered. She really understood how to work with darker hair without compromising its health or integrity. The color came out beautifully subtle, with just the right amount of dimension and warmth. It enhances my natural hair instead of overpowering it, which is exactly what I was hoping for. You can tell Holly is super knowledgeable and takes the time to listen to what you want.

I have been a long-time customer of Masumi, and she is truly amazing. I have naturally frizzy, wavy hair that is very difficult to manage on my own, but Masumi always performs a total transformation. What I appreciate most is that she designs styles to last—she doesn't just focus on how it looks today, but how it will grow out. My highlights blend perfectly into my roots even months later! She is a master of everything: highlights, Japanese straight perms, and haircuts. Also, don’t miss out on her shampoo—her head massages are the best! I highly recommend her to anyone.

Last minute before a trip, I realized how bad of a hair color touchup I was in need of and my usual place was unavailable, so I decided to swing by the studio to see if there was any chance there for highlights. Dori was super nice and was willing to accommodate me last minute, even staying late since that was the only time I was available too, and she did an absolutely fantastic job! I was very impressed and even my family immediately commented on how beautiful my hair came out. Definitely recommend Dori for your hair needs! It’s my second time seeing Mila for Hilights and she always does such an amazing job! Went in after work 5:30 and she was able to fit me in for a full balayage and a hair treatment. Everytime I go there whether for partials or full- she gets the color vision spot on. I highly recommend adding the Milbon moisturizing treatment- it’s one of the best treatment ever for hilighted hair even after so many washes your hair is left feeling so soft and at BonBon they offer it with a heated towel that feels divine! Love my hair thank you!
