What is a fish pedicure and how does it work?

Fish pedicures use foot spas filled with tiny garra rufa fish (also known as ‘doctor fish’) to replace the traditional exfoliation technique used in pedicures. The fish gently nibble on your feet’s dead skin, leaving them feeling soft and exfoliated.

Is a fish pedicure safe?

There are safety and ethical concerns around fish pedicures. Not only have there been reports of staphylococcus and other bacterial infections after fish pedicures, but hygiene is hard to guarantee because the fish can’t be sanitised, and it’s hard to clean the foot spas/basins between clients.
