11/10 experience! This salon was clean and the staff was nice and efficient. I’ve been to many salons and this was the most thorough hair wash and scalp massage I’ve ever had. And Curly was just amazing! I had the best experience with him. He listened and took his time to get my cut as precise and perfect as possible. He also gave me styling tips and got my pin straight hair to look voluminous like I wanted. Glad I found my new go to spot, and for my cut to be under $100 with tip is unheard of in New York.

Always receive great color, exactly what I ask for plus great recommendations. I have never left unhappy. They are also the fastest hair coloring I have ever received. Full head balayage plus roots - completely done and out the door in less than 1.5 hours. Everyone is extremely friendly, place is clean, and fair priced. I have yet to receive a hair cut, but expect they will do great job.

I have been a long-time customer of Masumi, and she is truly amazing. I have naturally frizzy, wavy hair that is very difficult to manage on my own, but Masumi always performs a total transformation. What I appreciate most is that she designs styles to last—she doesn't just focus on how it looks today, but how it will grow out. My highlights blend perfectly into my roots even months later! She is a master of everything: highlights, Japanese straight perms, and haircuts. Also, don’t miss out on her shampoo—her head massages are the best! I highly recommend her to anyone.

What a great experience as usual. I went in for a cut and blowdry but after arriving I decided I'd like to get highlights as well. I'm so happy with how everything turned out. I went into my appointment feeling blah and was *feeling myself* by the time I left. I can’t give Harix enough praise! He is SO talented and I could not be happier with my cut and color. He is equal parts artist and stylist, which is especially crucial when it comes to curly hair. He also has a wonderful vibe and I immediately felt at ease. This is by far the best hair service I’ve ever received. Harix is truly a curly hair expert and I’m so grateful to have found him! Roots Radicals is also a lovely salon. Everyone there was kind, professional, and knowledgeable. I recommend it to everyone!

It was my first time at Hayato. Although it looked a bit dated, the service was exactly what I was looking for. Great shampoo experience and Mina my hairdresser was a super Japanese stylist. She listened to what you wanted and then offered her opinion. Highly recommend for a true New York Japanese hair salon. Thank you!
