Was ist der Unterschied zwischen Dry Needling und Akupunktur?

Akupunktur ist eine alte chinesische Medizinmethode, die es schon seit Jahrhunderten gibt, im Gegensatz zu Dry Needling, das erst seit wenigen Jahren angeboten wird. Sowohl bei der Akupunktur als auch beim Dry Needling werden zur Schmerzbehandlung dünne Nadeln in die Haut oder in die Muskulatur eingeführt. Dry Needling wird jedoch nur zur Behandlung von Muskelschmerzen eingesetzt, während Akupunktur eine Vielzahl von körperlichen und psychischen Beschwerden behandelt und Blockaden im Energiefluss des Körpers (Qi) beseitigt, um die allgemeine Gesundheit zu verbessern.

Welche Risiken birgt Dry Needling?

Nebenwirkungen treten nicht häufig auf, können jedoch Blutungen oder Blutergüsse an den Einstichstellen der Nadeln umfassen. Außerdem können in den 24 bis 48 Stunden nach der Behandlung Schwindel, Schläfrigkeit, Übelkeit und verstärkte Schmerzen auftreten. Tut Dry Needling weh?

Möglicherweise spüren Sie ein lokales Zucken, wenn die Nadel einen Triggerpunkt trifft: ein kurzes, stechendes Gefühl, gefolgt von Muskelentspannung. Bei den meisten Menschen treten nach der Behandlung 24 bis 48 Stunden lang leichte Muskelschmerzen auf, ähnlich wie nach dem Training.
