Create a draft sale
Learn how to save sales before you’re ready to check out, giving you the flexibility to make changes as needed.
How draft sales work
Draft sales let you create a sale and save it before checkout, giving you time to build and update the cart before taking payment. This is useful if a client wants to add items later, if you need to confirm services or pricing, or if you’re preparing a sale in advance.
You can return to a draft sale at any time to edit items, service charges, tips, and discounts. Draft sales only affect reporting once the sale is completed and payment is taken.
To take a partial payment and save the remaining balance to be paid later, create a part-paid sale.
Create a draft sale
- Open an existing appointment from your calendar.
- In the right panel of the appointment view, click on the Checkout button at the bottom.
- You can also:
- Add more items to the cart using the Add to cart button in the right panel.
- Click on Quick actions (three dots) at the bottom of the right panel, where you'll find options to Apply a discount to the whole cart or individual services and Adjust service charges.
- Click on Quick actions (three dots) at the bottom of the right panel, then select Add cart discount.
Once saved, the draft sale appears in your calendar with a draft sale icon (shopping cart). To complete the sale, open the appointment from your calendar and select the Continue checkout button to collect payment from the client.
Edit or cancel a draft sale
- From the main menu on the left of your screen, go to Sales, then select Sales from the left menu panel.
- Click on the Drafts tab and use the search bar and filters in the toolbar to find the sale.
- Select the Draft reference number to view the sale details.
- In the right panel of the sale view, click on Actions (three dots) and choose one of the following:
- Edit the draft sale: In the right panel, click on the Checkout button and make any adjustments. Click on Quick actions (three dots) at the bottom, then select Save draft.
- Cancel the draft sale: In the right panel, click on Actions (three dots), then select Cancel draft. Click Confirm in the pop-up to confirm the cancellation.
