Manage your Data Connections
Seamlessly integrate with over 40 external tools, including popular tools like Power BI, Salesforce, and Tableau. Learn how to manage your Data Connections on Fresha.
Your database details include a password that can only be viewed once. For security reasons, we recommend saving this password for future reference. If you lose the password, you’ll need to reset it to reconnect your data.
Viewing connection details
Your connection details are shown in the website and via email when you create a new connection. You can also view your connection details from your connections list:
- Open the Reports tab on Fresha.
- Select Data connector in the left hand panel.
- In the connections list, find the connection you want to view.
- Click Actions, then select View details.
Adding a public key
A public key adds an extra layer of security to your connection. If your system requires secure SSH authentication, you can upload a public key for protection. This ensures that only authorized users can access your data while keeping your connection safe from unauthorized access.
To add a public key to an existing connection:
- Open the Reports tab on Fresha.
- Select Data connector in the left hand panel.
- In the connections list, find the connection you want to add a key to.
- Click Actions, then select Add public key.
- Enter your public key into the text field.
- Click Save.
Update an existing public key
To update a public key for a connection:
- Open the Reports tab on Fresha.
- Select Data connector in the left hand panel.
- In the connections list, find the connection you want to edit the key for.
- Click Actions, then select View details.
- On the Database details page, click Update key.
- Enter the new public key into the text field.
- Click Save.
Resetting your password
If you lose a connection password, you can reset it. Resetting the password will invalidate the existing connections using the old credentials.
- Open the Reports tab on Fresha.
- Select Data connector in the left hand panel.
- In the connections list, find the connection you want to reset the password for.
- Click Actions, then select Reset password.
- To confirm that you want to re-set the password for that connection click Generate new password
- Copy the new password and make a copy of it somewhere secure
- Click Close.
Viewing Data connector usage
The Data connector add-on includes a fair-use limit of up to 8 hours of daily usage across all connections.
To check your Data connector usage:
- Open the Reports tab on Fresha.
- Select Data connector in the left hand panel.
- Click Database usage in the top-right corner.
Viewing connection activity logs
Activity logs show who’s using a connection and how often.
To view activity log for a specific data connection:
- Open the Reports tab on Fresha.
- Select Data connector in the left hand panel.
- In the connections list, find the connection you want to view activity for.
- Click Actions, then select View activity.
To reset the password for a data connection:
- Open Reports and select Data connector.
- In the connections list, find the connection you want to reset the password for.
- Click Actions, then select Reset password.
- Confirm by clicking Generate new password.
- Copy the new password for your tool.
Disable a data connection
To disable a data connection:
- Open the Reports tab on Fresha.
- Select Data connector in the left hand panel.
- In the connections list, find the active connection you want to disable.
- Click Actions, then select Disable.
Re-enable a data connection
To enable a data connection:
- Open the Reports tab on Fresha.
- Select Data connector in the left hand panel.
- In the connections list, find the disabled connection.
- Click Actions, then select Enable.
Deleting a connection
Deleting a connection removes it from your list and disables access from connected tools.
To delete a data connection:
- Open the Reports tab on Fresha.
- Select Data connector in the left hand panel.
- In the connections list, find the connection you want to delete.
- Click Actions, then select Delete.
- Confirm by clicking Delete again.
FAQs
Data is automatically refreshed approximately every 30 to 80 minutes, similar to Fresha's reporting feature. This ensures your database stays up to date with the latest information.
Yes, the Data connector has a fair use policy of up to 8 hours of usage per day across all connections. Using multiple connections at the same time doesn’t increase the usage rate. After 8 hours, queries will be temporarily restrained, and usage will reset the following day. To optimize performance, avoid excessive query frequency and batch requests where possible.
No, Fresha does not store passwords for data connections to ensure the security of your business data. If you lose your password, you can easily generate a new one by resetting it.
If you cancel your subscription, you’ll retain access until the end of your billing period. After that, connections will be disabled. If you resubscribe within two months, your connections will still be available. After two months, they will be permanently deleted.
