Before your HIFU (pre-care):

1–2 weeks before
- Limit sun/tanning; arrive without sunburn or deep tan. Daily SPF 30+ (zinc preferred).
- If you get cold sores, ask about taking an antiviral around treatment. 

3–7 days before
- Pause actives on the treatment area: retinoids (tretinoin/retinol), AHA/BHA exfoliants, harsh scrubs/bleaching creams. 
- Discuss blood thinners (aspirin, fish oil, etc.) with your provider to reduce bruising risk; don’t stop prescribed meds without advice.
