Jemma is absolutely amazing at what she does. I’ve visited several hairdressers in Harrogate over the years who have completely ignored my preferences. As a blonde, I like my hair to be a certain tone and she mastered that perfectly. She is extremely meticulous, thorough and knowledgeable however doesn’t leave you in the chair for hours. My visit to the salon is always lovely, and Jemma is a pleasure to chat too. Bonus is, she’s very reasonably priced! I’m so pleased I’ve found my new hairdresser forever!

I've been coming to “The French Reception” for years now, and for me personally Laurent is the best hairdresser in Harrogate. His skill, attention to detail, and ability to understand exactly what I want never fail to impress me. Whether it’s a simple trim or a complete restyle, Laurent always delivers perfection! The salon itself is a welcoming and stylish space, making every visit a pleasure.

I think, I just found my hairdresser. Nicola delivered the result that has had exceeded my expectations. My hair was so ruined by previous master that I’ve struggled to decide whether to go lighter or darker. Thanks to Nicola’s expertise, experience and uncanny intuition, I finally have the balayage I always wanted. The haircut is the chef’s kiss. It’s the best haircut I’ve ever had. My search ends here. I am very happy and looking forward to my future appointments with Nicola.

Laura is amazing. An incredibly talented hairdresser with so much knowledge and passion. She creates the most natural looking, soft and blended blonde that even looks amazing months after the initial colour. The cut and styling is always perfect and I'm so glad I managed to find such a brilliant stylist (after years of searching). She's a really lovely person too. Highly recommend.

Jemma is such an incredible hairdresser, this is truly the nicest my hair has ever looked 🤩. Such an amazing colourist, she did sooo many foils, I couldn’t believe it 😂. Having moved to Harrogate I was looking for a new salon and I’m so pleased I came across shade. Millie is lovely! The salon is beautiful and such a warm atmosphere with a great service. My hair looks and feels incredible and I’m so pleased. I’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend this Shade to anyone looking for great results and a genuinely enjoyable experience!

Millie is very talented. Always listens and gives the best consultative advice. I moved to London in March and specifically travel back to harrogate every few months so she can do my hair. Wouldn’t trust anyone else. Also gives the best head massages!

Luke always gets my colour and cut perfect, he choose the platinum colour and a very blunt Bob which I am so happy with that I continue to travel from leeds over to Harrogate because I love how I look and feel now. Highly recommend.
