Harix was amazing with my curly cut. He took the extra time to talk through styles - I only had a few directions and no particular style request. I'm so happy with the way he understood and cut my hair, he's very experienced and loves cutting curly hair. He also took weight off my curls to give them some bounce. Would 100% recommend for all curly cuts.

OMG, I got my haircut from Andrea and she is AMAZING. I have curly hair and havent gotten it cut since the pandemic started, PLUS I also had a baby, so it was looooong. She dry cut it and worked through my curls and did such a great job. I feel like a new person - with bouncy, well-styled, no-longer-straggly curls. THANK YOU!

Excellent first time visit to this salon. I did the olaplex treatment + haircut and blow dry special. The stylist was very detail oriented and took his time and in return I have one of the best cuts and blowouts I’ve ever had! Will be back 100%. Thank you!!

Loved my time with Liv! I had just taken out my braids and needed a good deep conditioner, silk press, and trim. She took great care with my hair. The silk press came out perfectly straight and smooth, and she was friendly and professional throughout the entire appointment. She even gave me tips for maintaining the style. Can't wait for my next appointment.

The salon has a great decor. Everything is really cute. I got there 15 minutes early for my appointment (the late policy scared me) and wasn't seen until 15 minutes after my appointment started. The hair stylist was apologetic and they communicated with me throughout the process. Once the appointment started, it went very well. They made sure I was comfortable the whole time. I received an actual consultation and recommendations for products to help my dry scalp and boost my natural curl pattern. Patrice cut my hair and did an amazing job. I'm impressed and excited for the hair journey!

I’ve been going to Kat for years! She is an excellent stylist. Recently she styled my long locs for my wedding and it was perfect. I told her how I wanted to feel and showed her my dress and she worked her magic. What I appreciate about Kat the most, aside from her hair expertise, is her vision. Kat has style. She knows what looks good. I can trust her ideas and I don’t have to always have it all figured out. I love that about her. Lastly, she also is an excellent colorist. In the early days of my locs, she would do all my wild colors (blondes, red, dark blue etc.).

I can't decide if the best part was the shampooing of my hair or the styling. My hair came out wonderful and I always have an excellent experience at H2 Salon. Patrice washed deep conditioned and styled my hair.

11/10 experience! This salon was clean and the staff was nice and efficient. I’ve been to many salons and this was the most thorough hair wash and scalp massage I’ve ever had. And Curly was just amazing! I had the best experience with him. He listened and took his time to get my cut as precise and perfect as possible. He also gave me styling tips and got my pin straight hair to look voluminous like I wanted. Glad I found my new go to spot, and for my cut to be under $100 with tip is unheard of in New York.

Jill is a magician!! The New York winter and water had killed my curls, but Jill brought them back to life. So very professional and taught me about my hair and styling, while also keeping my preferences top of mind. The space is clean and modern, and the Self team were so wonderful.

It was really amazing! She’s cares about her clients a lot and made conversation with me! I love my hair and she framed it so nicely; I was worried because I have a tighter curl but she knew exactly what to do and taught me how to do my curls and what products work the best! Will be coming back!💛

I've NEVER written a review in my life. No cap. But Desiree's work at The Way inspired my first. My daughter's hair was always this dry, clumpy mop that took stylists 10+ hours to braid—most visits took two days. Our first visit to The Way? A haircut and 2½ hours later, we finally got to celebrate her natural curly hair. Curls just popping and locking. Beautiful. For parents with mixed kids struggling with their children's hair—this place should be shortlisted. Highly recommended and will definitely return. Thanks, Desiree and The Way!

Staff was wonderful and able to fit me in very last minute for a wash, blow dry and trim. Best shampoo I’ve had in a LONG time, and I left feeling like my hair had been well cared for. Would definitely recommend, and I plan to go back again soon’

Amazing experience. All of the ladies in the shop were sweet and helpful. My hair came out amazing Shawanda styled my hair beautifully. I haven’t had a sew in in almost 10 years so it was wonderful to be so well taken care of. Shawanda also suggested some great products for upkeep and I purchased every one of them. I will definitely be back for maintenance and future new styles.

This amazing black owned salon is an experience its self. From the cleanliness to the ambiance and the hospitality! You’re greeted and welcomed by amazing staff and high quality service. I’ve had the pleasure of booking with my hairstylist Cara, twice and Tash Blaque and every time I’m pleased and blown away with the experience I received. Cara is such a pleasant spirit and an even better hairstylist. She’s experienced and loves to make sure her client leaves content and satisfied. I booked the sew in experience and received a wash and set, blow out and styling with my ready installed weave.

Harix is a miracle worker! I came in with dried out bleached ends asking for a complicated mullet cut and he gave me better than I could have asked for! He also educated me about how to take care of my curls long term so I feel confident to style my hair 💖 Can’t wait to show off my new cut!

I had a wonderful experience at Roots Radical Salon. I’m relatively new to the area and was looking for a local spot for a little cut and guidance on taking care of my somewhat curtly hair. Harix was my stylist and he exceeded all expectations. I was very impressed by his knowledge of curly-wavy hair (especially being that I always feel my hair falls flat and loses the curl easily). I learned so much about how to better care for my hair and left feeling supported and excited by my revived curls!! Elias at the front was also incredibly attentive and informative! Overall a great experience!!
