Kirk is extremely knowledgeable on human anatomy and the role each skeletal muscle plays in biomechanics to create pain at each spot and movement. The Sports Massage he offers is not a stronger deep tissue, because it wasn't about the amount of force applied to the "knots". In fact, he uses a moderate amount of strength you would get in a deep tissue or less than a deep tissue, but following the muscle fibres' natural direction and ease out the tension. He also gave me a few exercises to strengthen my weaker muscles that induced compensation in surrounding muscles. He's amazing!

Professional and friendly

Absolutely lovely appointment. Grace really made aure to look after my long term injured knee and when I had a muscle in my shoulder play up mid appointment she looked after that. I cant wait for my next appointment

I would highly recommend the Recovery Room and Gaz. He was reassuring and regularly asked if there was any pain and what areas were most in need. Many suggestions were given to help in the future.

I have been with a very discomfort and pain on my lower back for months. Been in doctors and quiropractor to find out why but nothing really clear. After my appointment today I felt happy as we might know why is causing this pain and we have put things into perspective with a plan. I am so happy and I highly recommend the recovery room.

Vikki was so friendly and helpful. She made it clear I could indicate whether I wanted more or less pressure throughout the sports massage, which I did. I noticed an immediate improvement in my back, which I'd hurt while gardening a few days before. Really eased the pain.

I went to the recovery room due to a chronic pain I have been suffering with in my lower back and down my right leg for some time now. I had previously been seeing a chiropractor for 6 months however with no improvement seen or identification of the route cause during this time I felt physiotherapy was the route to explore. Vicky identified the route cause immediately and has filled me with great confidence that I now know what the issue is and how I can correct and treat it appropriately. I’m booked in again and will be using the recovery room moving forward.

Another fantastic, effective and informative treatment with Kirk who has been treating my various (largely self-inflicted injuries) for over a year and has consistently got me back to activity with rehabs in place to strengthen and avoid future injury. He’s by far the best physio/rehab professional I’ve come across in Portsmouth/Southsea in the past 20 years . Cannot recommend highly enough (although please don’t use up all his appointments as I want some!)

I’ve been struggling with really bad headaches and muscle pain in my neck and shoulders for months. I had an amazing neck, back & shoulder massage today and the improvement is night and day! I am a terrible client and forgot my lovely therapists name but she was really thorough, making sure to check my symptoms, what areas I wanted to focus on and how firm or not I wanted the pressure. I’m really looking forward to coming back.

Kirk was exceptional. He managed to find the route cause of my lower back pain and golfers elbow and provided a recovery plan to help strengthen the muscles around the problem so it would prevent it from recurring. I was able to move freely and with no pain after my appoinment. I would highly recommend!
