Under cupping-terapi vil en praktiserende læge placere specielle kopper på din hud for at skabe sugning; dette trækker vævet under kopperne opad og øger blodstrømmen til området. Cupping menes at hjælpe med at udtrække urenheder, lette heling og forbedre kroppens energistrøm. Du kan vælge at have tør kupping (som vi har beskrevet ovenfor) eller våd kupping, hvilket indebærer at punktere din hud med sterile nåle, så blodet fysisk trækkes ud gennem sugeprocessen.

Hvis du booker hos en erfaren praktiserende læge, bør du forvente at betale mellem $35 og $165 for din cupping-behandling.

Hvor ofte skal jeg gå til en cuppingterapisession?

Det afhænger af dit mål og den tilstand, du ønsker at behandle. Du kan i første omgang blive rådgivet til at have en aftale hver 1-2 uge, men spørg din praktiserende læge – de er bedst placeret til at rådgive dig om sessionsfrekvensen baseret på din krop og dens behov. For generelt velvære kan du få cupping-terapi en gang om måneden. Der skal være mindst en uge mellem aftaler.

Hvad kommer der ud af din krop, når du laver cupping?

Cupping har til formål at fjerne toksiner og fjerne blokeringer i din krops energistrøm. Du vil sandsynligvis se dette mere fysisk, hvis du vælger våd cupping, en proces, der punkterer huden med nåle og anvender kopperne til at trække blod ud. Det menes, at våd kobber kan hjælpe nyrerne med at fjerne tungmetaller fra din krop.

Hvor længe holder koppen på din krop?

Fordi suget skabt af cupping trækker blod til hudens overflade, vil du sandsynligvis opleve en vis misfarvning eller blå mærker. Det vil tage alt fra et par timer til to uger, før disse forsvinder helt. Du kan slippe af med mærkerne hurtigere ved at drikke vand og hvile.
