What is cupping therapy?

During cupping therapy, a practitioner will place special cups onto your skin to create suction; this pulls the tissue beneath the cups upwards and increases the flow of blood to the area. Cupping is thought to help draw out impurities, facilitate healing, and improve the body’s energy flow. You can choose to have dry cupping (which we’ve described above) or wet cupping, which involves puncturing your skin with sterile needles so that blood is physically drawn out through the suction process.
