Owner, Sam teaches one to one Mat, Reformer & Tower. Affordable & fun Duet Circuit Pilates lessons are also available for clients of a similar fitness level.

Sam has 20 years of experience & has studied alongside the highly respected Balanced Body Master Pilates Instructor,  LA based Maria Leone. 

 

Firefly Pilates

Feeling stiff and achy? Being stretched leaves the body feeling relaxed and stress free. Lengthening out muscles helps to relieve joint pain and muscles tension. It can also help to improve general posture and alignment. 

Special stretching techniques called PNF stretches, work by "tricking" the muscles into stretching a little more which will help to improve range of movement. 

The session is half hour and it's recommended to attend 2 sessions a week for maximum benefit. 

Assisted Stretching 

This appointment is mandatory if you are new to Firefly Pilates.
It is intended as a taster session to see if Pilates is appropriate and safe for your body and fitness goals.
 
During the 45 minute appointment, if Sam feels Pilates is appropriate and safe for your body she may conduct a postural assessment and introduce some Pilates exercises on either the Mat, Tower or Reformer. This will be the bases onto which she can plan and tailor future programs.

This is a pay as you go, single session for 2 people.

These Contemporary Pilates lessons are designed for clients who enjoy exercising with a friend or family member.  Sharing the hour with an exercise buddy is super fun and it also spreads the cost for the hour. It’s a great way to maintain a routine when your exercise buddy holds you to account for the weekly Pilates meet up!
Each client will be challenged with circuits of Mat, Reformer and Tower which work the whole body in all planes of movement. If you’re the competitive ”type” you’ll enjoy the interaction and comradery.

One to one Mat lessons are for everyone, any age, any level.

How to activate your Core/ Powerhouse.
The Mat Repertoire as designed by Joseph Pilates ( some modifications and variations may be necessary to accommodate injuries etc ).

You'll gain:
Strength, body awareness, flexibility.

Every “body” is unique. Large group Pilates lessons are cheaper but restrict the individual’s ability to maintain proper form and safety. 
Tailored one to one lessons bring noticeable progress in injury improvement and pain reduction. As time goes on, Sam continues to appropriately modify and merge movement skills to create better muscular balance, mobility, flexibility, strength and self-confidence.


Mat single session 1:1

These one to one lessons are designed for anyone completely new to Reformer as well as intermediate to advanced levels. Mat beginner course advised first for beginners.

These one to one lessons are designed for anyone completely new to Tower as well as those who are at an intermediate or advanced level. Complete the Mat Beginner course first before starting Tower.

Tower single session 1:1

Tower Single Session 1:1

These one hour sessions are designed for clients who have:
Restricted mobility and flexibility.
Injuries, aches and pains.
Tension and stress.

Each session will be appropriately tailored and may include any of the following to create relief and improvements from the original symptoms:

Sports Massage, Foam Roller techniques, MELT Roller technique, Facilitated stretching techniques, Pilates and Yoga stretches, injury rehabilitation exercises or breathing techniques. 

Multiple appointments over a period of time, alongside one to one Pilates with Firefly Pilates may be advised to encourage noticeable change. 

Certain health conditions may be contraindicated and this service may not be safe or appropriate. If you are unsure please feel free to email or call Firefly Pilates to discuss. In certain cases, a doctor's certificate may be required before these services may begin.

Sports Massage and Myofascial Release

These Home Visit sessions are 1:1.

The hourly exercise appointments are designed for anyone who is unable to make it to the Firefly Pilates studio; or they have their own studio at home where they would prefer to be trained.

All sessions are tailored according to the client's needs and goals. 

Sessions may include mixed equipment and mixed exercise techniques that are not restricted to Pilates:
Mat Pilates, Yoga, Tai Chi, strength training with dumbbells or bands, The Pilates Magic Ring, the Balanced Body MOTR, the foam roller, the MELT roller, Swiss balls, Pilates balls, props like chairs, stairs, blocks, and more.
