Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation (IASTM) is a manual therapy technique used to address musculoskeletal issues and promote tissue healing. Practitioners utilise specialised tools with smooth edges to apply controlled pressure and friction to targeted areas of the body, aiming to detect and treat scar tissue, adhesions, and restrictions in the soft tissues.

During IASTM, the clinician glides the tools over the skin, creating a therapeutic stimulus that helps break down collagen cross-links and stimulate the body's natural healing processes. This technique is thought to improve blood circulation, enhance tissue flexibility, and alleviate pain and restrictions in movement.

IASTM ( Instrument Assisted Tissue Manipulation)

Myofascial cupping therapy is a therapeutic technique that involves the use of special cups to create suction on the skin, which is believed to help release tension and promote healing in the muscles and fascia (connective tissue). During the therapy, the cups are applied to specific areas of the body, and the suction creates a negative pressure that lifts and separates the layers of fascia. This can help increase blood flow, reduce inflammation, and improve the flexibility of the muscles and surrounding tissues.

The therapy is based on the concept that the suction from the cups can break up adhesions and knots in the fascia, allowing for better movement and function of the muscles. It is often used as a complementary treatment for conditions such as muscle pain, stiffness, and restricted range of motion. Myofascial cupping may leave temporary marks on the skin, commonly known as "cupping marks," which are usually not painful and fade over time.
