Sports massage is not just for athletes, it can be one of the most effective massage techniques for releasing muscle tension and restoring balance to the musculoskeletal system.  This type of massage is a highly beneficial treatment if you’re suffering from a specific injury or niggle, whether that be from sitting at a computer all day giving you neck and shoulder pain or if you have been training for a marathon and are experience overuse pain in your legs. 

This service includes an assessment to help find the cause of your issue. This will allow us to treat accordingly and provide you with a plan to continue treating yourself at home. 

Sports Massage combines soft tissue mobilisation, neuromuscular techniques and stretching. As a result, it can be one of the most effective massage techniques for releasing muscle tension and restoring balance to the musculoskeletal system.


SPORTS MASSAGE FOR PAIN OR REDUCED RANGE OF MOVEMENT

Sports massage is not just for athletes, the techniques are beneficial for everyone. Regular sports massage, can help identify and address muscle imbalances, tightness, and areas of tension before they lead to more serious injuries, allowing you to stay healthy and perform at your best. Sports massage helps relieve muscular tension, mobilise soft tissues, break down adhesion's and reduce pain. 

Depending on your needs and with your permission, to gain the best results, I may use cupping therapy and IASTM during your sports massage.



SPORTS MAINTENANCE MASSAGE

massage can play an important role in the process of injury rehabilitation including sprains, strains, broken bones and muscles tears. Massage can accelerate the healing rate and improve the function and range of movement of the injured site and surrounding tissue. Please note that massage is contraindicated (not advised) until inflammation (heat and/or swelling) has subsided. Depending on the extent of the injury, it is recommended to wait a minimum of 48-72 hours before treating the injured area.

INJURY REHABILITATION MASSAGE

post-event massage will help to alleviate muscle soreness and reduce recovery time after intense workouts or competitions. It can be performed from 15 minutes up to 48 hours after intense exercise. To gain the most benefit, this massage should be carried out as soon as possible after a big training session or event.  

POST-EVENT MASSAGE

Holistic massage helps to promote relaxation and reduce tension. A therapeutic massage can stimulate a sense of calmness and well-being.

RELAXING MASSAGE

Hot Stone Massage utilises smooth basalt volcanic stones. Some stones will be placed on or under the body (not directly on the skin) to promote circulation and relaxation, whilst others will be used to massage the muscles. Hot stones help ease muscle tension, promote endorphin release, dilate blood capillaries and boosts the flow of nutrient rich blood to tight muscles, ligaments and fascia, encouraging deep relaxation and rejuvenation. They say that one massage stroke with a hot stone is equivalent to 10 strokes by hand.

Hot stones provides a truly relaxing and rejuvenating experience.
