Botulinum Toxin is an MHRA approved prescription medication. It is quick and safe procedure that has very little impact on usual activity on the day of injection. We deliver tiny injections to relax the muscles that create excessive movement, and ultimately cause static and dynamic wrinkles.

The risks of Botox injections are small if it's done correctly by an experienced doctor. You will be given a consent form and aftercare information as part of your consultation process. Dr Julia will advise a treatment plan, designed to obtain your desired results, and let you know the pricing. As a guide, a bespoke face treatment usually costs around £340.

Botulinum Toxin

In allergic rhinitis your immune system initiates an inflammatory response to a foreign substance entering the body and fights to remove it. It is not dangerous, but can be extremely uncomfortable.

Hayfever is a type of allergic rhinitis i.e. it is an allergic reaction to pollen. Approximately 1 in 4 people are affected by different pollens throughout the year e.g. tree pollen (March-May),  grass pollen (June-July), weed pollen (June - September).

The hay fever injection (Kenalog) is a steroid that temporarily suppresses the immune system enough to reduce or in some cases completely take away the symptoms. Unfortunately it does not cure hayfever.

Advantages:
- Generally only one dosage is required for most patients
- It is less costly compared to daily dosage and over the counter medications.
-The effects can last well, sometimes for a whole season
- The injection is best administered at the start of the season or as soon as symptoms start, though it can be given any time.

You can use their online portal to order your test and choose the blood taking service that is most convenient for you. 
If you are in Cheshire you may elect to attend McGill Health to have your blood taken by Dr McGill.
Alternatively, Medichecks offer a range of clinics throughout the UK which you may find are closer to your work or home. It is also possible to book a house call for your blood test. Cryotherapy

The tear trough is the area between your lower eyelid & cheek. As we age, we can experience volume loss in this area which can often cause dark circles and hollows under the eyes. This is not an uncommon problem & can be treated easily with tear trough dermal fillers.

Tear trough filler treatment quickly & effectively restores lost volume, & reduces dark circles under the eyes. It also reduces fine lines and wrinkles as the dermal fillers will boost collagen production by hydrating from the inside. Facial reshaping/plumping

We usually schedule routine review appointments to align with the turnover cycle of your skin. Dr Julia will recommend the optimum time for review as part of your initial consultation.

Skin Treatment Review Appointment

This is the ideal ‘entry-level’ peel in the SkinCeuticals professional treatment range – it includes 20% Glycolic Acid, 10% Lactic Acid and has a pH of 3.2. It is ideal as an initial peel for sensitive skin and helps to prepare the skin for extractions. The lactic acid ingredient has an exfoliating action in peels, but also a moisturising function, which makes this peel good for menopausal women, frequent travellers – anyone with drier skin, as it reveals newer epidermal layers and helps moisturise the skin. In essence, if you haven’t had a professional 

Gel Peel GL can be used for any gender, any age group and any Fitzpatrick skin type and is used to treat problematic skin (with or without breakouts), photodamage and to improve skin elasticity and wrinkles.

For optimal results, Dr Julia recommends booking a course of 4-6 Gel Peel GL treatments, each spaced 10-14 days apart. In general, once the skin has returned to ‘normal’, it is possible to repeat the peel.

How many treatments will I need?

A course of 4 Skinceuticals Micro Skin Peel treatments are recommended at 2-4-week intervals for optimum results.

What preparation is required prior to treatment?

Active Skin Peels will require skin preparation prior to treatment to prepare your skin for your peel to achieve better penetration and to avoid any adverse reactions. We recommend prepping your skin for 2-4 weeks prior to superficial skin peels but that can be longer when having deeper peels. 

Skinceuticals Micro Skin Peel 20 or 30

This peel is the strongest of  the SkinCeuticals professional treatment portfolio spectrum: a deeper penetrating peel, which combines brightening and anti-inflammatory agents with a peeling solution to target hyperpigmentation, improve photodamaged skin and treat melasma and acne.

For concerns around pigmentation, the simple 'stretch test' can be used as an initial indicator of pigmentation depth - using the fingers to stretch a small area of skin. If the pigmentation goes lighter, the pigment is located at the epidermal skin layer, or if there is no change, the pigmentation is located more deeply in the dermal skin layer. This helps determine what level of peel is required to treat effectively.

Pigment Balancing Peel contains 40% Glycolic Acid, 10% Citric Acid, 27% Vitamin C and 4% Emblica and with a pH of 1.6 will penetrate the skin more deeply. Dr Julia recommends booking a series of six treatments, spaced 14-28 days apart for maximal results.

Skinceuticals Pigment Balancing Peel

Skin Care

Skin tags are small growths that hang off your skin. They're common and harmless, but can be removed if they're bothering you.

Skin tags are small, soft, skin-coloured growths on your skin. They can vary in colour and size – from a few millimetres up to 5cm wide. They are usually found on the neck, armpits, around the groin, or under the breasts. They can also grow on the eyelids or under the folds of the buttocks.

Skin tags can easily be burnt or frozen off in a similar way to how warts are removed. This Cryotherapy usually requires several treatment sessions. 

They can also be surgically removed, sometimes using local anaesthetic. Excision usually removes the lesion entirely in one session.

Please book an initial consultation with Dr Julia to assess the lesions & discuss which treatment options are appropriate. We can usually treat more than one lesion in one appointment. Cryotherapy can begin during the initial consult.

Skin tag removal

Moles are a form of pigmented lesion. Benign (non cancerous) lesions can simply be left alone. However if your mole bothers you in any way Dr Julia may recommend removal (excision).

Skin lesions are removed under local anaesthetic. After careful examination, the area around the mole will be cleaned with anti-bacterial solution to limit infection. There may be a surgical drape placed around the area to ensure a sterile working area.

You may return home very soon after your procedure. If you experience any pain following your mole removal, over the counter pain relief such as Paracetamol can be used.

If stitches are required you will be asked to make an appointment with us to have these removed, usually 7-10 days post op. The wound takes around 4-6 weeks to heal.

You will be asked to complete a medical history. Please book an appointment to assess the mole and plan suitable treatments.

Mole Removal

Thread veins are treated using a procedure called sclerotherapy. After numbing the area with local anaesthetic, the veins are microcannulated and injected with the appropriate scleroscant for your condition. A scleroscant is a chemical designed to irritate the walls of the small veins and cause them to collapse. This prevents future blood flow.

Please note, before booking this treatment, please book a video or face to face consultation to establish if this treatment is suitable for you. You will be asked to complete a medical history form, and Dr Julia will establish the correct prescription dose in advance of this treatment.

Thread veins and spider veins can require multiple sessions to treat. They are often easier to treat if they can be caught early.

For maximum effectiveness of this treatment please wear your Macom surgical compression leggings for 12hrs per day afterwards. This improved recovery time, reduces pain and swelling, and  minimises recurrence.


Sclerotherapy - Thread veins / spider veins

Back-acne (aka Bacne), ingrown hairs, poor quality skin on your back? Want to avoid ingrown hairs after a back wax? Prep your skin to maximise your holiday tanning? 
This peel is perfect for addressing all of the above. 

You can jump right in to this treatment, but for maximum benefit Dr Julia recommends prepping your skin with an exfoliating wash for a couple of weeks pre-peel. Skinceuticals Simply Clean Pump or Glycolic Renewal Cleanser are perfect options to use as a shower gel on the areas you’d like to treat. You can pick these up in clinic, or book a skin consultation if you’d like more advice on how to really nip problems in the bud.

This appointment can be booked without prior consultation as Dr Julia has a peel for every skin type.
