Swedish massage is a pressure-based massage designed to induce and accelerate the healing process within your body and mind. Massage oils are used to facilitate the smooth movements along your muscles, creating a sense of relaxation and harmony.

Additional Swedish massage techniques include kneading and friction, designed to gradually break down muscle adhesions to ease pain and tension.

Swedish massage is one of the most popular holistic therapies due to its ability to treat body and mind simultaneously, promoting health and wellbeing.  Many clients benefit from Swedish massage in the following ways:

Swedish Massage (back, shoulders, neck, face & scalp) - 45 mins

Hot stones, when used during massage, allow the massage therapist to utilise the basic Swedish massage techniques including long strokes, kneading, rolling, tapping, and circular movements, just with rocks instead of their hands. The basalt stones are heated to a uniform temperature in a special heater.  The high iron content of the stones makes them excellent at retaining heat. Your therapist will use different sized stones depending on the area of the body being massaged.  The heat from the stones penetrates into the muscles and helps loosen them up so the therapist can provide a deeper and more relaxing massage quicker.
Hot Stone massage promotes healing by targeting the deeper layers of muscle and delivers a wealth of benefits increasing your lymphatic flow and encouraging your body to remove waste products.

This gentle and relaxing treatment is suitable for most expectant mothers in their second and third trimester.

Pregnancy massage can promote relaxation, relieve stress and muscle tension, contribute towards reducing anxiety, ease swelling and joint pain, while helping expectant mums to get a good night’s sleep.  

The treatment is carried out with expectant mums laid on their side, supported by pillows. A pure grapeseed oil is used as many aroma oils are contraindicated during pregnancy.

Indian head massage is a relaxing holistic treatment that uses acupressure massage on the head, face, neck and shoulders. It aims to rebalance the body's energies.

Part of the Hindu health care practice of Ayurveda, Indian head massage focuses on the head, neck and shoulders and was originally used to improve scalp and hair condition. It is a deep massage, using a variety of pressure and techniques, including circular massage strokes to the scalp, deep tissue work on the shoulders, and stretching of the neck.  In addition, the massage therapist will also gently stimulate and stroke pressure points on the face.

Indian Head Massage (seated) - 40 mins

Thai Foot massage works on similar principles as Reflexology covering the feet and the lower leg.  It involves hands on massage and stretching techniques opening the ‘Sen’ energy lines, along with the use of a traditional Thai massage stick.  Pressure is applied on specific reflex points on the feet to stimulate the internal organs, encouraging the body and mind to balance as well as activating the body's natural healing mechanism.  The circulation of both blood and lymphatic fluid will be improved and the immune system boosted as well as stimulating the elimination of toxins.  This treatment is a wonderful stress reliever promoting deep relaxation. It is particularly beneficial for those who stand on their feet all day long, or feel they lack flexibility in their feet and ankles.
