Je moet voor echte haarextensies zorgen, net zoals je voor je natuurlijke haar zou doen: borstel, was en conditioneer ze zonder het bij de wortel te overdrijven, wat de hechting zou kunnen losmaken. Synthetische extensions kunnen in koud water met een kleine hoeveelheid milde shampoo worden gewassen voordat je een leave-in conditioner aanbrengt.
