Wat is face waxing en hoe doe je dat?

Gezichtswaxen is een ontharingstechniek waarbij warme of koude wax wordt aangebracht op gebieden met ongewenst haar op je gezicht. De wax wordt vervolgens snel in de tegenovergestelde richting van de haargroei verwijderd, waardoor het haar uit de wortel wordt getrokken.

Hoe bereid je je voor op een waxafspraak?

Stop in de dagen voorafgaand aan je afspraak met ontharen in het gebied dat je van plan bent te waxen, omdat je haar lang genoeg moet zijn (tussen een kwart tot een halve centimeter lang) om de wax vast te pakken en te verwijderen. Je moet ook zure producten en huidschillen vermijden en ervoor zorgen dat je hydrateert en gehydrateerd blijft. Als je snijwonden of vlekken hebt in het gebied dat je wilt waxen, dan kun je het beste wachten tot ze genezen zijn voordat je verder gaat met je afspraak. Reinig je gezicht op de dag van je waxafspraak zoals normaal, maar vermijd het aanbrengen van crèmes of make-up en blijf uit de buurt van alles wat de gevoeligheid van je huid kan verhogen, zoals blootstelling aan de zon en zonnebanken.

Wat kun je verwachten tijdens een waxafspraak?

Je gezichtsharstechnicus bereidt de wax voor op je behandeling – ze zullen waarschijnlijk harde of zachte wax gebruiken.
