Today, the lovely Zarli May cut and coloured my hair. I walked in with a tangled mess—bleached, brassy, and damaged beyond belief. In two days, I’ll be attending my baby sister’s funeral, and the weight of that grief was written all over me. Zarli met me with such compassion. As someone who is autistic and often struggles with physical touch, I usually find salon visits overwhelming. But she made me feel safe, seen, and entirely at ease. I left not only looking better—but feeling held. Thank you, Zarli.
