Qu'est-ce que l'acupuncture ?

L'acupuncture est une forme de médecine chinoise qui utilise des aiguilles fines pour traiter une gamme de conditions physiques et mentales. Beaucoup de gens trouvent l'acupuncture efficace pour traiter des plaintes aussi diverses que la douleur, les rides et les problèmes de santé mentale. Cependant, les preuves formelles de son efficacité ne sont pas claires.

Quels sont les effets secondaires de l'acupuncture ?

Les effets secondaires sont rares, mais peuvent inclure des douleurs, des saignements ou des ecchymoses lorsque les aiguilles ont perforé la peau, des étourdissements, de la somnolence et des nausées.

À quelle fréquence dois-je faire de l'acupuncture ?

La fréquence des traitements dépend de la ou des plaintes que vous traitez, vous devez donc demander conseil à votre praticien. Certaines personnes ont recours à l'acupuncture une fois par mois pour maintenir leur santé globale.

Comment se préparer à une séance d'acupuncture ?

Essayez d'apporter une liste de tous vos médicaments, suppléments et affections actuels à votre séance pour aider à informer le praticien de votre état de santé général avant qu'il ne vous traite. Il est conseillé d'éviter le café (un stimulant) et de manger au moins 2 heures avant votre rendez-vous, car cela pourrait réduire l'effet de l'acupuncture sur votre corps.
