Jill is a magician!! The New York winter and water had killed my curls, but Jill brought them back to life. So very professional and taught me about my hair and styling, while also keeping my preferences top of mind. The space is clean and modern, and the Self team were so wonderful.

I love my hair, I love the staff, I love my stylist (Lauren), I love the way the products smell, I love the way everything looks inside, I love their organization and the way they handle business. If I wasn't moving next month, this would be my permanent salon, but unfortunately I'm leaving New York. :(

It was incredible! I booked a last minute appointment with Sabrina, to get a partial highlight. She went above and beyond. It ended up looking great very natural and healthy. The whole team was so welcoming. We had such a nice conversation and I really felt at home there. Highly recommend!

Lorraine was professional, punctual, and really did her best work on my highlights. It was my first time getting any color, let alone blonde. I have been natural for 5 years and have meticulously kept my hair healthy so I was a bit nervous at first but Lorraine and her team explained the process, were gentle, and gave easy-to-follow maintenance tips. I love my color! I had it done the Sunday before last for the second time by Maria-Blair Serrano and she is truly talented -- I am so happy I have found my new colorist. I am very particular and precise about what I want, I have been coloring my hair for 30+ years. Maria listens very carefully and takes the time to understand what you want the end result to be. She is thoughtful and deliberate, and it's obvious that she really enjoys her work and cares about her clients. I love the dimension and depth she brought to my highlights, and she did it all without damaging my hair, I'll be back.

Dorela did an absolutely amazing job with my hair! I have very thick & wavy hair, so I was a little nervous at first, but Dorela was fantastic! Tamia is a true professional. She was on time and very thorough. As a first time curly cut client, she asked me to tell her about my hair and listened to my hair concerns, goals and complaints. She acted on the information I provided and by her assessments. She chose products and haircut accordingly. As a result I am happy with my cut and the services provided. Dorela is such an expert in balayage techniques! I drive from another state for her to do my hair because she is so good at what she does. I can’t go anywhere else that is why I would highly recommend you check her out :-)

My experience with Kat is excellent as always. Kat is personable and always professional. She is passionate about what she does and genuinely cares about her clients' needs. This is her vocation. I live in the Bronx and travel to Brooklyn just for Kat to take care of my tresses. Enough said!
