Jill is a magician!! The New York winter and water had killed my curls, but Jill brought them back to life. So very professional and taught me about my hair and styling, while also keeping my preferences top of mind. The space is clean and modern, and the Self team were so wonderful.

It was my first visit and it was lovely. I love my hair, I love the staff, I love my stylist (Lauren), I love the way the products smell, I love the way everything looks inside, I love their organization and the way they handle business. If I wasn't moving next month, this would be my permanent salon, but unfortunately I'm leaving New York. :(

I've been going to Self Salon for a few years and I just cant get enough of this place. They are just wonderful. I did my partial highlights this time around with Elia and she is truly the best. It was incredible! I booked a last minute appointment with Sabrina, to get a partial highlight. She went above and beyond. It ended up looking great very natural and healthy. The whole team was so welcoming. We had such a nice conversation and I really felt at home there. Highly recommend!

The clientele is chill. They take care of my hair and I always leave feeling and looking my best. Lorraine was professional, punctual, and really did her best work on my highlights. It was my first time getting any color, let alone blonde. I have been natural for 5 years and have meticulously kept my hair healthy so I was a bit nervous at first but Lorraine and her team explained the process, were gentle, and gave easy-to-follow maintenance tips. I love my color! I had it done the Sunday before last for the second time by Maria-Blair Serrano and she is truly talented -- I am so happy I have found my new colorist. I am very particular and precise about what I want, I have been coloring my hair for 30+ years. Maria listens very carefully and takes the time to understand what you want the end result to be. She is thoughtful and deliberate, and it's obvious that she really enjoys her work and cares about her clients. I love the dimension and depth she brought to my highlights, and she did it all without damaging my hair, I'll be back.

This was an overall wonderful experience! The salon is very clean and zen. Just a super chill feeling. The receptionist was very warm and welcoming, she took my coat and offered drinks :) The salon owner Maria did my hair and she really listened to what I wanted my long term hair goal to be. She then explained how we can make that happen and did my highlights, wash & blowout in 2hrs. It really was great because, Im always on a tight schedule. After going several shades lighter my hair still felt silky smooth. She gave me a great messy blowout and I was off. Thanks again Self !!!!

It was an incredible experience. I went to a different salon. They completely turned my hair, orange, yellow and dark brown Doreen saved my life. I wasn’t able to go to work. Very happy. Excellent experience highly recommend it. She repaired my fried hair into beautiful sleek with highlights. Absolutely fabulous thank you Doreen.

Last minute before a trip, I realized how bad of a hair color touchup I was in need of and my usual place was unavailable, so I decided to swing by the studio to see if there was any chance there for highlights. Dori was super nice and was willing to accommodate me last minute, even staying late since that was the only time I was available too, and she did an absolutely fantastic job!
