This is the first to take the time to properly discuss what I’m looking for, talk about and design the shaping, work out the best colouring and tone of the tint for me with my input, check in with and show me what she’s doing throughout the tinting and making adjustments where asked. It had been a long time since I visited a hairdresser and I was keen to have the works with colour, cut and blow dry. Being in my 60’s my hair was salt and peppery and undernourished. We discussed colours and foils and the cut and included an eyebrow tint. This makeover experience had complimentary drinks and nibbles, great conversation, laughs and a beautiful head shampoo, treatments and head massage. The end result was mind blowing with healthy hair, brilliant cut and gentle blow dry. Go visit Salon Therapy asap.

This was a really great experience! I want for lash tint, brow stain which was new to me, and bikini wax. She did a great job on my brows and explained the stain, and ensured we aligned on the colour. She made me super comfortable - the spa treatment room is very tidy and well-appointed. I’ve had bikini / Brazilian waxes done in Canada, Saudi Arabia and now here in Cairns and this was the most efficient and painless visit in nearly 25 years of them. I’m not sure what exactly the product was, but it went on smoothly without tugging and NOT burning hot, and was super effective. Recommend!!

Merrilyn is the best hair dresser in Cairns. I have been going to Merrilyn since before 2015. Occasionally I branched out to try other hairdressers yet none can compare. The cuts I have had (short hair) always keeping growing into a suitable style until a return is necessary. Marilyn is definitely a professional which shows in all aspects of her business. Merrilyn salon is of an excellent standard. It is a very relaxed atmosphere with lots of laughing. A joy to visit. The costs for services are very reasonable and affordable.

I highly recommend Avoca to everyone. I had a last minute brow appointment with Sarah - my first since returning to Cairns after moving 3 years ago. I’ve definitely missed coming here as no where else compares. The whole online booking process was smooth and efficient. Sarah provided the most relaxing, friendly, calming and precise service for me. I love my new brows! The overall feel and style of the place is beautiful, welcoming, and relaxing 😌

Absolutely loved my experience at Suede Hair in Cairns! I got a fresh cut and they did an amazing job refreshing my blonde hair after it had gone a little yellow from the sun & swimming during my holiday. The colour looks bright and healthy again. On top of that, I got to hold the most adorable, well-behaved dog while they cut my hair — honestly the best bonus ever 🐶💛 Everything was perfect from start to finish. Friendly, professional, and relaxing. Highly recommend!

Marie is an amazing colourist with a wealth of experience, and passion to make your hair shine. After 30 years of having foils I’ve had ALL the experiences (blondes you know what I’m saying) and Marie is the best I’ve come across. Her blonde is fresh, bright, natural, and all without a trace of damage to my aging treated hair. I hesitate to let the secret out, but she is honestly one of Cairns very best colourists. I feel safe and comfortable with my blonde in her hands, you can trust her professionalism and experience to give you the most gorgeous blonde without any of the stress or damage.

I’ve been going to Addie since I moved to Cairns 2 years ago. She is incredibly skilled at figuring out what works for you and what you want as well as delightful to spend time with. She has helped me find a style that I can keep with little effort and has been tweaking my colour to fit the colours I like with my job requirements. Not always a straightforward job.

Took me a while to find a good hairdresser when I moved to Cairns. Was recommended here by a friend and wouldn’t think about going anywhere else. I always walk out happy with my cut and colour and have a great time “hanging out” with all the staff while being pampered.
