Best Russian Manicures near me in Jouars-Pontchartrain, Paris

The cuticle protects the nail root, which is why the American Academy of Dermatology does not recommend pushing or cutting cuticles. Doing so makes it easier for bacteria to infect your nails and skin. Russian manicures are invasive, cutting the cuticle; and this makes them controversial. If you do opt for a Russian manicure, make sure it’s carried out by a certified, experienced technician.

Once every 3-4 weeks.

A Russian manicure (also called an e-file manicure or dry manicure) is a nail technique that uses an electric file to precisely remove the cuticle and clean around the nail plate, rather than cutting or pushing cuticles by hand. The result is an extremely clean, flush finish with gel or colour applied right to the skin. It originated in Eastern Europe and has become one of the fastest-growing nail treatments globally, known for its exceptionally neat appearance and longer-lasting results.

A standard manicure uses water soaking, a cuticle pusher and nippers to manage cuticles by hand. A Russian manicure uses an electric file (e-file) to remove the cuticle dry and with greater precision, resulting in a cleaner finish where gel or colour sits flush to the skin with minimal lifting at the edges. Russian manicures require a more skilled, trained technician and typically last longer than a standard gel manicure.
