What is leg waxing and how is it done?

Leg waxing is a hair removal method for the legs. Hair removal is achieved by placing hot or cold wax on your legs, then stripping it off quickly in the opposite direction to your hair growth to extract hairs from the root. Is leg waxing safe for all skin types?
