Best Curly Hair near me in Hervey Bay

Curly hair shrinks significantly when dry, behaves differently to straight hair, and requires cut decisions made based on the curl pattern rather than length alone. Wet cutting curly hair removes curl pattern context, often resulting in uneven length and shape when dry. Specialist dry-cutting techniques deliver far superior results.

The best haircut for your curly hair will depend on your face shape, curl type, and personal style. Some popular curly cuts include layers, bob, pixie, and Deva cuts. Ask a stylist who understands curly hair to help you choose a haircut that will enhance your natural curls and suit your overall look.

That depends on your hair's health and how quickly it grows. On average, every 6-8 weeks is a good benchmark for curly hair cuts. Maintain your curly hair's health and definition with regular deep conditioning between cuts, and make sure to use curly-friendly hair products.

Find a stylist or salon that specialises in curly hair. Read their online reviews, ask for recommendations, and look for stylists with curl-specific training or certifications. It's also a good idea to book a consultation with your stylist first, to discuss your hair goals and ensure you feel comfortable with them.

A curly haircut uses a cutting technique designed specifically for individuals with curly or wavy hair. Unlike a regular haircut, a curly cut must be done when your hair is dry and in its natural state. It takes your natural curl pattern and texture into account. This ensures that your curls fall beautifully, reducing frizz and enhancing volume.

Curly hair specialists offer dry cutting (cutting curls in their natural state), the Curly Girl Method consultation and haircut, curl-by-curl cutting, DevaCut, and rezo cuts. These techniques respect the natural curl pattern and spring factor to deliver shape and movement that standard wet-cutting cannot achieve.
