This is the first to take the time to properly discuss what I’m looking for, talk about and design the shaping, work out the best colouring and tone of the tint for me with my input, check in with and show me what she’s doing throughout the tinting and making adjustments where asked. This is a really fantastic salon - relaxing, pampering, expert, friendly and kind. The best way I can describe it is ethical luxe. If you are, like me, new to town and are not sure where to go for that little treat or indulgence and want to be treated like a princess don’t look any further. Faux fur blankets, warm bed to hop into after the ‘nasty’ treatment for the remainder, delicious elixirs and dainty little edible treats presented in a glass cloche post-treatment were some of the highlights. Loved my time there - the ladies looking after me very caring. I had IPL which is great to brighten your skin and get rid of pigmentation. Didn't hurt at all. Also had eyebrows tinted and lash lift. And good prices. I will be back thanks Cathy Barrow hypnosis.

Very relaxing. Not like the usual “busy” salons I have experienced in the past in Cairns. I felt like I was treated with dignity & respect. Every ingredient was explained to me. Sally was very thoughtful, asked me what tea I would like to drink during the foot spa session, & engaged in providing quality time with my feet, toes and lower limb massage. I will be returning to Serene Retreat when I am in Cairns again next. Serene Retreat is now my new chosen place of serenity for receiving an ultimate pedicure and massage.
