One popular variation of Polynesian massage is the Lomi Lomi massage, also known as "loving hands" massage. This technique incorporates not only physical manipulation but also a holistic approach, aiming to balance the body, mind, and spirit. Lomi Lomi massage often utilizes long, sweeping motions that mimic the waves of the ocean, creating a sense of deep relaxation and harmony.  'Lomi lomi' translates to 'rub rub' in Hawaiian, and reflects the broad, flowing strokes made with the therapist's fingers, thumbs, palms, arms and elbows. Macadamia, palm and coconut oils are usually used as moisturisers in lomi lomi massage, to keep the strokes smooth and to nourish the skin.
