Hi! I’m Beth Underdahl-Peirce, a licensed massage therapist and founder of Bloomington Therapeutic Massage. My journey into massage therapy began after high school, driven by a desire to help others and make a positive impact. Having experienced chronic neck pain from poor posture and life challenges, I understand the importance of relief. After ten years in massage therapy, I became a physical therapist assistant to deepen my knowledge of the body.

Choose this session if you know you love being stretched, have limited flexibility/mobility and which you had more, or are not comfortable undressing. Typically one will stay fully dressed in comfortable clothing while the therapist does a series of compressions and stretches for you. This is done on the table while the therapist stands on the table and uses their feet to do the compressions and to help get you into the stretches. Your goal is to stay fully relaxed and just breathe into each stretch. This is a very relaxing session that can help increase flexibility, mobility and decrease pain. The compressions are done on meridian/energy lines and help you to feel relaxed, energized and help with healing.
This can also be done as a blend of Ashiatsu and Ash Thai, where one undresses and lays under a sheet. Proper draping can be done so the majority of the stretches can still be received. Instead of compressions, there will be some Ashiatsu massage with a lot of stretching.

Ashi Thai

Choose this session if you know heat relaxes you. During the session, warm bamboo sticks are used to give a soothing and healing massage. The heat, along with the pressure of the bamboo stick, can help loosen tight muscles and help you relax. Like hot stones but without the clunky sound. 

Warm Bamboo Massage

Choose this session if you know you love deep tissue work. In this session, Beth stands on the table holding on to bars overhead for balance, while using her feet to give a deep tissue massage. The foot allows the pressure to be spread out over a wider surface area, allowing the deeper work to feel more gentle than a pin-pointed thumb or elbow. The massage strokes are long and slow which creates a very relaxing deep tissue massage.

Ashiatsu

Choose this session if you are unsure of what you want or need, or if you know you want a hands-on massage.
Whether you want a relaxation massage with slow and long massage strokes; deep tissue massage for pain relief; gentle myofascial work for pain relief; or passive stretching for an increase in mobility, this is the session for you. Beth may also include warm bamboo to let heat help loosen tight muscles.
