Swedish massage is applied on the back, legs, buttocks(compressions), neck,arms, and upper torso.
Swedish massage is for relieving from aches and pains, decreasing muscle toxins, improving flexibility, improving circulation, and increasing blood oxygenation.

Mental Health Benefit
Swedish massage helps reduce cortisol levels which is the stress hormone. Swedish massage also increases dopamine and serotonin levels which improve ones mood. Swedish Massage also calms the sympathetic nervous system which is your fight and flight system causing a state of relaxation and sleepiness.

Side Effects of Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is a gentle form of massage compared to some other techniques. Therefore side effects are minimal. With massage in general, a person can experience some soreness or bruising in the days following. Some people also report developing a headache. To prevent this drink plenty of water following a massage to help excrete the lactic acid from the body.

Contraindications:
People with cardiovascular or blood circulation problems such as phlebitis or varicose veins, as well as people with kidney, hypertension or diabetes issues should consult a physician before receiving this care. Bamboo massage also is not recommended in case of fever or pregnancy.

About Cupping Therapy
Cupping is a therapeutic technique that comes from traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and is believed to have numerous health benefits in addition to stimulating the flow of qi ("life force") within the body. This body treatment integrates well with massage therapy, and involves applying a localized negative pressure (suction) to the skin using glass, plastic or silicone cups at targeted areas of the body. The intent of this therapy is to stimulate the function of the circulatory and lymphatic systems. It may also help to release congested tissues and loosen adhesions at superficial tissues of the body.

Contraindications for Cupping Therapy:
Blood clots, Bleeding disorders, Bruise easily Hemophilia, Injured areas, Infections,
Acute skin conditions, Sunburn, rash,

About hot water soak: prior to massage
Hot water soaks feels great and makes the skin and muscles feel more pliable to work with especially with stiff and sore muscles.
The benefits of warm soaks includes raising the body temperature, producing sweating, cleansing skin pores, increasing superficial circulation, muscle relaxation, and general relaxation.
Contraindications to Thermo-Hydrotherapy:
High or low blood pressure, heart or circulating problems, pregnancy, systemic diseases such as hepatitis, seizures, multiple sclerosis, infection or inflammation conditions, vascular problems associated with phlebitis, varicose veins, diabetes, skin rashes, allergies to water additives, contagious conditions, some cancer and cancer treatments.

Some medications may make hydrotherapy unsafe for a client. These include drugs that: alter hot blood vessels react to hot or cold, change skin sensitivity to hot or cold, alter the body’s temperature control or cooling mechanisms.
