This differs from strip or cluster lashes, which are applied to the skin of the eyelid. Classic lash extensions are also called individual lashes or 1 to 1 lash extensions.

Classic lash extensions are 1 on 1 lash extensions, they are applied in a 1:1 ratio, which means 1 lash extension is attached to 1 natural lash.
Compared with classic lash extensions, volume lash extensions are applied with a 2:1, 3:1, 4:1… ratio, which means more than two lash extensions are applied to a natural lash hair.
