Dissolving filler is a cosmetic procedure aimed at removing or reducing the effects of dermal fillers that were previously injected. A person may wish to have the old filler removed in order to make way for new filler, or because they are unhappy with the results of the previous treatment.

The procedure typically involves using an enzyme called hyaluronidase, which is injected into the area where the old filler was placed. Hyaluronidase works by breaking down the hyaluronic acid in the filler material, allowing the body to absorb and eliminate the remaining particles naturally. Once injected the breakdown process typically takes several days to a week, and may result in some temporary swelling or bruising.
