A post event massage is much lighter, softer and more superficial than a normal sports massage. A post event massage can take place ideally between 2-6 hours after the event but can still be beneficial in the following couple of days. The functions of a post event massage are to assess for injury and tissue damage, restore muscle tone and resting muscle length as well as to help prevent DOMS and relieve cramps and spasms.

The massage can be adapted to the clients needs and wants and uses different techniques such as hacking, kneading, beating and pounding.
