I have been having problems with my lower back for quite sometime. I was recommended smart recovery and to be honest I was sceptical. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Naomi is so knowledgeable and it turns out that the pain was actually coming from my hips. I previously worked in a spa with lots of massage therapists and I will go as far to say that my massage at smart recovery was by far the best I have ever had! So professional and very talented. Sports massage is designed to assist in correcting problems and imbalances in soft tissue that are caused from repetitive and strenuous physical activity and trauma. The application of sports massage, prior to and after exercise, may enhance performance, aid recovery and prevent injury.

45 minutes is suitable for more than one area such as a shoulder and neck. For multiple large areas or a chronic issue consider booking 60 mins to get a comprehensive treatment. If you are unsure please ask.

This 45 minute deep treatment will focus on the entire front and back of the legs, extensive work through the ankles and feet also. The treatment will also include use of hot stones to relax your tired muscles and leave you floating out the door.

This gentle yet effective treatment focuses on the muscles of the back, neck, even down into the hands, with a combination of rhythmic strokes and light pressure to release stress and promote relaxation.

Hot stones massage (full body)

A hot stone massage is a type of massage therapy that uses heated stones to relax muscles and relieve tension. The massage therapist uses the stones in a variety of ways, including: 

Placing stones on the body
The therapist places the stones on specific points of the body, such as between the shoulder blades and at the base of the low back. The stones are usually made of basalt, a volcanic rock that retains heat well. 
Using the stones as an extension of their hands
The therapist uses the stones to apply gentle pressure and glide along the muscles. This can feel deeper than a regular massage because the warmth relaxes the muscles. 
Combining stones with deep tissue techniques
The therapist uses the stones along with massage techniques like kneading, rolling, and long strokes.

Hot stones massage 

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a specialized massage technique used to stimulate the lymphatic system, which plays a crucial role in waste removal and immune function. 

It involves gentle, rhythmic movements by a trained therapist, designed to move lymph fluid from swollen areas towards functioning lymph nodes. MLD aims to reduce swelling, improve lymphatic drainage, and support the body's natural detoxification processes. It is superficial pressure due to the lymphatic capilleries laying very close to the surface of the skin. 

In this treatment the therapist uses an extremely gentle push and stretch technique over dry skin, once full drainage of an area is done the therapist will move any remaining fluid using light pressure with oil. This treatment finishes with a gentle full back and neck oiled massage. Designed to leave you relaxed and refreshed.

Manual Lymphatic drainage whole body 

Lymphatic drainage massage, also known as manual lymphatic drainage, is a gentle treatment used to relieve painful swelling in your arms and legs caused by lymphedema. Lymphedema often affects people recovering from breast cancer surgery.

Lymphedema happens when your tissues retain fluid left behind after your cardiovascular system sends blood to your tissues and organs.

The remaining fluid is called lymph. Normally, your lymphatic system collects your lymph and returns it to your heart via a network of lymph vessels and lymph nodes. When something disrupts your lymphatic system’s process, lymph collects in your arms and legs, making them swell.

A massage therapist uses lymphatic drainage massage techniques to move lymph from your tissues to your lymph nodes, which eases the swelling in your tissues.
