Hyperhidrosis is a common condition in which a person sweats excessively. The sweating may affect the whole of your body, or it may only affect certain areas. Commonly affected areas include the: armpits.

Botulinum toxin is injected into the skin and works by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands.  It takes three to four days for the results of Botox injections for hyperhidrosis to become evident.

In hyperhidrosis Botox helps to stop or greatly reduce the symptoms. This will usually happen within two weeks of treatment and the effects may last between six and seven months. If you find that this treatment has helped you, it can be repeated, this will give you the greatest benefit.
