Mandelic acid is a member of the family of alpha hydroxy acids; its commercial name is revealing of its natural origin, as it is found in bitter almonds (mandel = almond), as well as in apricots and peaches. Mandelic acid normalises the keratinisation process and enhances skin exfoliation.
